Break off before you can install them. They are cheap for a reason.

I ordered these trash can lid locks to install on a 55 gallon Rubbermaid trash can in our barn. The trash can holds our horse grain and I needed to effectively be able to keep critters (coon, possum, and the like) from getting in to the feed. Unlike other trash can lid locks we have tried, these are not adjustable, which isn't a big deal, but you must be sure to install them properly cause there's no tightening them. The mounting hardware was also less beefy than other lid locks we employ. So far, they've done the job we need them to do. Five stars.

...For the current price point of 39.99 I can't see why it would command such a high price. Sure, it is well made; strong double straps, plastic quick buckle and included hardware, however nothing new or super robust that it should cost so much more than similar offerings. The four straps arrived in a small box with included hardware and no instructions. The nuts and bolts are of good quality and a single self tapping screw is included for ????, who knows?
