We debated on using this as a work-space shelf in our very small kitchen, but settled on it being a fold-up shelf for the cats to reach their window bed, or to keep their food away from the dog in our Arctic entryway. We added a finished plywood board cut to about 10 by 14 inches. When it is not needed, we flip it down and out of the way. It works so well, we are going to get a second set of brackets for our kitchen. Only minor complaint is that the depth of the hinges mean the unit does not hug the wall as well as we’d hoped it would when in the down position.

These folding shelf brackets are very solid and extremely heavy duty! I ordered them because I needed to replace some generic and cheap ones on my food trailer counter that extends outside. They were very easy to install and they are very well-made. I did liked it it included the different screws even though I didn’t need to use these ones. The brackets themselves are very thick and solid stainless steel. Which works better than a lot of the cheap ones out there. Overall these are an excellent value for money and highly recommended. So much so I had to order two more sets for the other side.

This is my second pair of folding shelf brackets. These are hefty, well built brackets that operate smoothly and securely. The releases are easy to use and they catch the pins snappily. There is no doubt when these are in the up and locked position. The powder coating feel smooth without any globs or sharp edges anywhere. They seem like they'll hold up well over repeated use.As others have mentioned, the included screws are incredibly thin and the wall anchors are throwaways. The screws are strong enough if you're using the wall anchors, but I don't trust so much weight being held up by only drywall. These things will bend, snap, or strip going into studs. Definitely will use my own screws, which I do 90% of the time when fasteners are included since they're usually junk anyway. But I won't ding the brackets themselves for having garbage fasteners included; most manufacturers are guilty of that.

I know these are sold for shelf supports but I wanted a flip down seat for just outside our door that leads into the garage.We don’t wear outside shoes into our house and we have a mud room where we can sit down and put on our nice shoes we wear out in public. But my husband and I do a lot of outside work around our house and our work shoes and boots don’t go past the door into our house. So they have been lining the entrance hallway from our garage and just looking a jumbled mess. So my husband built a nice closet for outdoor shoes and we needed a place to sit down and put on these outdoor shoes. So this is where these brackets come into play.As you can see from my photos # 2 & 3 we have a nice little seat now. It actually isn’t attached yet because we are going to paint it but I think you get the idea.These brackets are very sturdy! They are attached to studs. So we both feel very comfortable sitting down. They are rated at 330 lbs. I sure would not use the included plastic type wall anchors in just sheetrock if I wanted to hold up more than 20-30 lbs. But anchored into studs this is a solid heavy duty item in my opinion.Specific things about the brackets:They are good and solidThey mount with 3 long screws each (the supplied Chinese screws are not good quality-one of them twisted in two as my husband was driving it into the stud and on the second one the Phillips head reamed out to where he couldn’t drive it into stud) so he went to his supply cabinet and got his own good quality screws to mount them with.It is good that it is available in different arm lengths to fit your needsOperation is easy-just reach underneath the shelf and pull the trigger on both brackets to lower the shelf/seatTo raise just pull the shelf up and it snaps into placeIt is non rusting stainless steel.The weight capacity exceeds our needs and it should be sturdy for years.We are both pleased with the quality of these brackets. If you don’t have a good supply of screws this could be disappointing trying to install. If they had included sturdy screws this would be a 5 star product. The price of just a few screws isn’t very much and lucky for us we had good ones on hand so we didn’t have to stop and make a trip into town just to buy screws. I would encourage anyone installing these brackets to just plan on getting or using your own screws. I believe we used a #8 2-1/2” screw for ours.We really like these brackets.

These are sturdy brackets. Exactly what I needed for my tiny house. It will allow me to stow away the table when not in use to allow for more room...but easily set back up when needed. its serves as a foldaway for a table that works as my dining table, extra countertop for the kitchen, as well as a desk space for when I work from home. The brackets are built strong and hold over 300lbs. I have had about 40lbs on it + another 40 lbs to account for the butcher block table top mounted to the bracket(which is the max the table will probably see) and handles it no problem. I sat on the table once to test it ( I weigh 180 lbs) and it held strong. I definitely attribute some of that to the hardware I substituted for the install.Something to note is that I used some of my own screws and anchors because the screws provided I wouldnt trust. Thats just a preference for me whenever I install something that I expect it to be a more permanent placement.
