Instructions made this impossible to figure out for our toy box. It is hard to rate the quality of the item if we cannot figure out how to use it.

These worked as described and better than the ones that my old friend initially put on the custom toy box for his grandchild. These worked 10x better than what he used...thank you!

I'm building a toy box for my granddaughter and these lid hinges will come in handy. The toy box is made out of a heavy wood so I will use both hinges, though one could be sufficient. These hinges are quite well designed and aesthetically will work well with any lidded box application.They do come with what might be considered instructions but they are woefully deficient. The manufacturer needs to get a new technical writer or send their current one for some grammar and sentence structure training. I included a picture of the poorly written section; incorrect words and sentences don't make sense. Thankfully these are basic hardware to install and the instructions are not that important, except for the measurements to achieve the various opening maximums. But enough on that.As for the hinges themselves, I do love that there is absolutely no resistance to open, except for the weight of the lid. And, no matter where you stop opening, the lid will stay in position. To close, you must apply a little downward pressure on the lid. That pressure and associated holding power is regulated by a center hex screw, tightening it will increase the tension, they even include the hex key. All the hardware, 4 wood screws, 2 small bolts and 2 mounting plates are included. The 2 small bolts are screwed into the mounting plates and act as axels to pivot on. There is no overtightening possible and the arm and plates are free wheeling, always.Only one improvement I can think of that would make these absolutely perfect: if they included a soft close capability combined with the hold open feature. Once you set the lid into a close motion, the hinge would soft close itself, in lieu of requiring a constant down push.As they are, these are well made hinges and very competitively priced. I see them a great solution to my granddaughter's toy box.

Ordered these for a lift door cabinet I'm building. The door is 42" wide so I'll use one of these on each side for balance but based on the rating and they way they feel, I think one would be adequate for sure. These can mount to a flat surface or a side mount, and the hardware is included. Very happy with these, I think they'll work great.

Use in Rv bus conversion for cabinets. They worked well. Time will tell if they hold up to life on the road.

These are great hinges and I think they would work great but unfortunately they are just too large for the small school desk I was hoping to use them for. The ad says they are 5.2 in length, but that's when it's closed (actually 5"), but they are 8" when extended. Plus the base (round portion) is .5" so just keep those dimensions in mind. I just wish they had been a little more accurate in the dimensions and provided that in one of their pics like a lot of products do. Otherwise, I think they would be great for larger projects.

These metal stay safe hinges are well-made. They are a little on the small side in case you couldn’t tell in the photos. Each arm is about 5 inches long.But they do have a solid build to them and they work just like it does in the video where it doesn’t just shut on its own. It has some kind of friction system inside so it doesn’t just freely close when opened. Overall, very impressed and happy with the quality of these hinges.
