Got this to do a unit in Architectural design in my STEM class. These are 1/4 scale and it helped get the kids more into their designs

Bought as a gift to go in an art folio for a designer. Love the number of options and shapes, didn't love how it came in the mail bent in half - really needs to be shipped with a piece of cardboard or something so it doesn't get bent and stuffed in a mailbox by the delivery service.

I have been getting bogged down with planning a re-do my home office, trying to do graph paper grids of my space on my own. These make it so much easier. I have some unusual nooks and crannies with low vs high heights in the ceiling, and a gable window. This set with its accurate arcs, door opening spaces to account for has perked up my energy and enthusiasm for the task.It is so nice to be able to add my furniture in a paper form to the room. It isn’t perfectly to scale, but close enough. No instructions came with it, but its a stencil set. How much instruction does it need. Then it got me to thinking about my bullet journal samples, which were freehand. These make blocks and lines symmetrical for a more eye appealing result. I’m glad I ordered them.

I have to laugh at myself when I think back on this. Years ago I decided to give my home office a makeover. I wanted to save money so I was going to swap out some furniture from various rooms. I measured the room and the chosen pieces of furniture. I then drew everything to scale and laid it all out on graph paper. My husband took one look at it and said it would never work because my furniture cutouts weren’t to scale. I wanted to prove he was wrong and started moving furniture around. He was right! I was way off. Well needless to say there was no makeover. Now I have relocated and I am trying to merge 2 households into one. These templates will make the job much easier and help me decide which pieces of furniture I can use from each house. I already have the floor plan for the new location so these templates will do the rest of the job. The plastic is soft and bends easily. From what I can tell, this set of 3 templates covers everything that you might need. The price of $5.99 at the time of my review is extremely reasonable. This is one project that I’m looking forward to.Please note:I am a member of the Amazon Vine Program. As a member, I receive Vine items that I evaluate and then submit my honest review. if you are not at the level of enjoying some very expensive home design software, you will find these useful. the material is firm but flexible. and you can see through to the background that you are adding to, making it easy to position. Each item is labeled and to scale....but generic . There are markings for different sizes, for instance to scale from a twin to king mattress....The stencils cover a good range of interior basics . ..and even marking for roof pitch..what I don't like is that the stencils are in 2 sizes, ( harder to store) .. it would have been preferable to have 3 or 4 the same size.. I also noticed that some things are repeated, like door swings, which could be achieved by turning the stencil over for the reverse, and the mattress that can be sized as chosen, and then another set of several separate mattress sizes. I would have also appreciated a larger range of plants. I'm sure as I use these , I will find other things I would choose to change. but for the price of $6, these are worth snapping up.

I’m a novice, not a professional, and I recognize that these are not calibrated to specific building codes, etc. There is a small amount of variance on some measurements — see the tiny differences in a few of the items labeled to be 36”. However, in all, I love these, and find them very useful for my own planning, interior design work, etc.I have some templates from my dad, probably 40 years old, and these have so many more updated measurements, furniture pieces, etc. You can see some of these changes in the range of sizes of doors, sinks, shapes of toilets and ceiling fans, different table types, and more. One super useful feature for me is the spacing guides on the house plan template. The scalloped edges are there to easily mark out spacing every 8, 9, 10, or 12 inches. A 16” would be nice, but just skip every other divot on the 8” guide.Overall, great tool for home, school, or non-technical design drawings.
