This is small but very handy little tool. Getting the old struts separated from the steering strut knuckles is often a bear and for the home mechanic, often involves, hammering, prying, heating, hammering and prying mixed with judicious use of vocabulary words.This tool removes the drama. Just remove the bolts from the lower arm, insert this little tool, tighten it with a 17mm wrench/socket and it works to spread the strut clamp apart. It also comes with several 1/2" drive hex sockets to remove the pinch bolts. I have a VW and removing struts has been a problem in the past. I expect this will speed and simplify the process significantly. As I will be changing my struts soon, I will report back on how well it functions.Bottom Line: Specialty tool to assist in changing struts. Designed to spread the pinch point for struts that are clamped into the strut knuckles.

Great little tool to have in my tool box. It worked great. I'm not sure what the 2 Allen wrench bits are for that's included in the kit.
