Maybe not a common use-case, but I used these to clamp a standing desk mechanism onto a small-ish IKEA storage shelf. I did this because the base of the standing desk was exactly the same size as the shelf and any movement would be bad.The clamps were easy to use and I liked that I could lock them in place.I was 100% confident that the desk wouldn't move even when I bumped into it. No worries moving it up and down (motorized) either.The clamps were 100% reliable.

I would say if you’re just using these once, then you’d probably be fine. But I took these off and back on, maybe 5 times, and the threads folded up, jamming the bolt in place, eventually leading me to snapping the bolt off.Overall, just not a great design

I had a wooden gate that had one of the supports splitting. Threw two of these bad boys on it and the gate even tightened up from sagging a bit. Worked like a charm.
