I realize many modern pcs no longer have serial ports, but for those of us who still use such dinosaurs, this cable is fantastic. It leaves maximum room behind the machine after it's plugged in, and makes for no worries about how far apart the machines might be, so you don't need to shuffle things around just to get the two pcs next to one another for connecting them. Wish I'd had this cable 20-30 years ago, would have made many tasks considerably easier. But, nonetheless, even today it's still useful if your pc has standard 9-pin serial ports. Very well built as well, which is always a good thing.

For some reason I missed that this RS232 cable is 42 feet long which could have an effect due to length as to any voltage drop so will have to test with what your intent of use is to assure connecting and moving data is fineIn my test, had no issues with mating connectors and 2 RS232 devices connecting to each other and moving data at low BAUD ratesSeems well-made, cable is good quality as is the male and female connectors and wiring pinsCones with no paperwork at all so no specs as what data rate speed or quality of data movement is expected
