I've used several of these, and they are well made and easy to use. It's nice to have the crimp terminals already attached so you don't have to strip the wire and solder. To the reviewer asking about the 10th wire- the bare 10th wire is connected to the metal shield around the DB-9 plug. Typically, you would connect it to ground (or to the chassis of your device).

Why does my RS-232 9 Pin have 10-wires?!?!?! One looks like the ground, but isn't. Don't buy this.
