The inside latch has no locking mechanism, and the required hole spacing for screw installation is the standard 1-3/4". I had to put a small piece of foam in rod hole to keep it from disconnecting from the outsideHandle . May only be an issue with my door as it is almost a decade old. Otherwise good quality. Could not find a replacement locally so this handle was a good find !

My Larson door had a thicker spindle, and the spindle that came with this handle was too long for the thickness of my door, but thankfully I realized that removing the set screw from the handle would release the smaller adapter on the inside of the unit, and then my existing spindle fit perfectly! So glad I didn't have to buy a full outside/inside handle replacement. This was just what I needed!

The description says that this latch would fit most screen doors. Upon receiving the product it was clear by just looking at it unopened that it would not work on my door. So far I have requested returning it twice over the past week and have not gotten a response.

Purchased this as a replacement for the original latch on my storm door which has no identifiable markings to tell who manufactured it. Was happy to find this on amazon since home depot and lowes have no clue - huge waste of time to go to retail stores for parts. Anyway, easy install, works fine but the plastic component which catches the door to latch it shut is sure to break which is the reason I needed this in the first place. Not sure why they could not make this metal.

I don't rate many products but this one deserves a "Beautiful"....the engineers thought of everything for this product. It took me 5 minutes to cut 3/4" from the shaft and a minute to screw it on. I'm Impressed at how simple and well engineered it is and at an incredibly low price. Great supplier, Great product.....actually worked better than the original.
