these are great if you have coyotes in your neighborhood. The air horn will scare them off... just make sure to keep your arm extended fully - the reason they work is because they are loud .....

So far, they work as expected. They are EXTREMELY LOUD, so guard your ears. I bought them to frighten off some very aggressive dogs my neighbors have. They constantly run up and threaten me, when I walk down to the mailbox or get out of my car, to get the mail. I tested it and didn't realize the cat was near-by. That cat shot away from the area, like it had been hit with something. I expect they will work equally as well with the dogs. I will have to try them (out the window) one day, as I stop the car, before I get out, by the mailbox, after the dogs come running up.

I love how loud this is. I bought it as a coyote deterrent after my small dog and I were charged by one in my yard! It fits snugly in my long, winter coat pocket.

We bought these for emergency use in case a tornado leaves us buried. I tested them and I am confident they are loud enough to be heard if we ever need to use them.

We live rurally and carry air horns when we walk our dog to deter coyotes, bobcats and other animals. We have previously used the 8 oz horn by "Shoreline Marine". That horn worked really well. As we ran low on air I decided to try a slightly smaller horn for easier carrying. Shoreline did not have one to I bought these ETL horns. 2 for $28. We got 1 good blast from each horn and mostly sputter on the next 2 tries almost like the horn is giving me "the raspberries"; and yes they were assembled correctly. That amounts to $14 a blast. I have now, periodically, gotten another loud blast but I can not depend on them to sound off when I may need it. Looks like I'll have to carry my saxophone on walks until I find a decent small horn. In the interim I will order a new canister for my Shoreline Marine.

I paid like $27 around for 2 air horn which it’s not cheap. I used it for the first time. I gave one to mom and one for me. As we both used it it only worked once for us and no more noise came out. All I hear is air come out but no noise. It broke and it was worth my money. I’m really upset about this.

This was higher quality and much louder than I expected! Don’t use this indoors. Definitely don’t use it anywhere near someone’s ears. For a small container, it makes a very loud sound. This is definitely not a “toy” version and shouldn’t be purchased for recreational use at parties or as a gag. This is the real deal, and I’d think it would be highly effective outdoors to signal for help or emit a warning sound. The sound will travel!
