The posts are well made but the cable system is confusing and there are no real instructions about installation. I contacted the seller and manufacturer for assistance with no response. I opted to buy another easier cable system. It is not mentioned but you need a hydraulic crimper to work the cable system. I brought a 10 ton one and worked well.

The fit and finish on these posts is good. They are consistent, straight and sturdy and look great while providing a lot of strength. The angle range was good for my stairs. I'm just not sure I like the oblong holes -- I assume they are there to accommodate the wire being at an angle, but seems like they should have more fitting rubber inserts for the holes.

These kits are super strong fence posts, its a 1/4 inch thick steel for the post and 1/2 inch thick steel for the base. Not only is the post galvanized but so is the steel wire it comes with, everything is also painted for even more environmental protection. The mounting hardware is heavy duty as well with 4 inch self tapping concrete bolts, they include a drill bit for the bolts and a wrench. It also comes with wire cutters for the steel wire. As a kit or individually these posts are quality made and will last your home forever inside and out.

First off, the posts are solid and the stainless steel cables definitely look nice. The setup wasn’t too hard, and the cable grommets included were a good touch. That said, the angle range (25-35°) didn’t work out great for my stairs—it was a bit of a pain to get everything lined up. Also, no handrail, which I didn’t realize when I ordered it, so that was a bit of a letdown. Overall, it works, but it wasn’t exactly what I was expecting.

This review is an update to my earlier review since I better understand the manufacturer's design choice and have a solution for what I view as an unintended negative impact. To start, on the good side: The post quality seems good, the welding of the base to the post appears fine, the weight is nice, and the cover for the base is superior to many of the more dominant brands. In addition, it includes the parts you will want when you install this. Overall, setting aside the holes for the cable, which I'll get to below, this post looks good, should be very functional, and should be as easy to install as any other brand.Regarding the hole, you may notice the holes on this post are elongated—very elongated. I'm assuming that is because they have designed it to better handle slopes from 25 degrees to 35 degrees rather than the more common design for 30-degree slopes. On the surface, this sounds good. That said, for most installations, it isn't useful and creates a visual problem. Specifically, the standard holes on stair posts aren't very oblong, if at all. Yet, they can handle some variation in angle because there is always some play between the grommet and the edge of the hole while still fully covering the hole. With the more oblong holes on this post and with the grommets supplied with this post, if your stairs benefit from the extra elongation, then it is also very likely the grommets included won't fully cover the hole since they will be pulled up or down, and the grommet is not as long as the hole.In addition, the grommet is sized for a much larger cable than the included 1/8" cable, leaving a gap on the inside hole of the grommet and a potential gap between the grommet itself and the post hole. Neither of these adds to the look of an otherwise nice-looking post.To fix this, I would look for oblong rubber grommets with a small, angled tube on the inside. This combination of shape and design for stair posts will hold them in place better and cover the hole. I don't know why such a nice post is paired with grommets that don't work well when better and only somewhat more expensive grommets would solve the problem.
