It's a pretty weak magnet but that kind of comes with the territory because of how small it is. I needed something really small and this is that.

This did the trick for me. I had dropped a bolt into the crank case of my KX250F dirt bike while removing the cylinder head. This tool was small, flexible and strong enough to retrieve the bolt with VERY little clearance available. Worth every penny.

Good addition to my tool box. Dropped a small bolt in my motorcycles spark plug hole, yeah thought it was all over. Bought this and on the first try oull that thing out.

This is the tool that saved the day. I dropped a hex bit down the oil filter passages of a Jaguar XF 3.0 engine while removing the oil filter assembly to replace a base gasket. After finding the bit with a borescope, I had to get it out. I ordered 3 different magnetic pickup tools despite already having 3 on hand, because all of mine had such a big magnet that they would not fit down the oil galleys properly. THIS magnetic pickup tool was the ONLY one that fit, and after some tedious work and terror, I was finally able to get the bit out and proceed with the job without having to pull the engine out of the car to put it on a stand and flip it over which would have taken 2 days. I highly recommend this pickup tool for tight access situations.

This was way better than I was expecting. I had lost a tiny sun visor clip inside the headliner if my car. The replacement visor had a new clip, but I didn’t want the old clip rattling right above my head. I wasn’t sure this was going to be small enough, but the head is tiny and the rod part is adjustable similar to a metal clothes hanger. Took about five seconds to grab the clip even though I couldn’t see it, lost it again before I could get it out, five more seconds and wallah. Kind of pricey for what it is, but I am happy.

It’s a great tool. Just wish the magnet was a bit stronger. It’ll grab what your picking up, but as soon as your start pulling it, it comes off.

Great tool! Used it for very specific job (:-)) - to pull out the valve from BMW motor cylinder. The valve stem is only 5.5 mm diameter. This tool is 5 mm and was strong enough to catch the valve for the stem end, lift it and pull through the stem hole back to working position. Saved me a lot of work.The only thing you should take into account - choose proper length for your tasks. I have ordered too long and this sometimes caused some inconvenience. But this was absolutely my fault.
