The gauge is the best way to keep a watch on the fuel system. It made a huge difference for me in gas milage and the cost paid for it's self.

So I know you're not going to be able to manufacture a fitting that has true to size internal diameter for the size hose it's going in and actually be able to install the fitting, but this fitting is clearly undersized. It is a robust steel fitting so more could definitely be bored out of the ID amd it still be plenty strong enough. Measured against XDP's knockoff of a PureFlow AirDog/Vulcan fitting shows a pretty large difference in ID. Probably not going to be the end of the world for most applications, but if your system demand is on the edge of what a 1/2 system can supply, checking the internal diameter of your fittings is something to pay attention to and this fitting will cause a restriction. It is smaller internally than a 3/8" hose is.
