The fetal skull model is a natural cast of a fetal head in the 30th week of pregnancy showing the characteristics of prenatal development. The fontanel, which becomes bone over time, are clearly visible on the fetal skull. Sutures will form along the bony plates helping fuse the fetal skull as the child ages. Study the anatomy of a human fetal skull with this realistic replica.

Sweet and well made but expensive. I just don't know if the value is there, especially these days.

During my 50 years teaching anatomy we always guarded the 'real fetal skulls' as if they were gold. They can be easily damaged and students aren't always gentle with instructional aids. I highly recommend this model for demonstrating the process of 'molding' during birth and the modification of the bones as the muscles sculpt the surface; specifically the mastoid process on a fetal skull vs an adult skull.
