I don't know much about leather, so I can't say whether this is real. I got it because it was inexpensive and would work well for wrap bracelets. So far, it seems like it will work well.

This leather cord is awful. It is thin, twisty, the dye transfers, and it has seams in it where it has been joined to other pieces. It tears very easily. It literally stinks (just awful). I also did not receive a full five yards, which is unacceptable. I will not be using this “product” on any of my leathercraft projects. This is a product I find very frustrating as it should just work, but it is truly garbage destined for the landfill; this makes me very cranky. Please do not buy this garbage. Thanks for listening.
