These are far superior to the usual silver-foil emergency blankets. Keep in mind that these are not designed for a comfort or cozy blanket experience - this is 'in case of emergency' gear, and the only heat it provides is reflecting back and minimizing the loss of your own body heat (of course that's true of any blanket, it just becomes glaringly obvious when using this type). At 3.4 ozs per blanket (and that includes the featherweight carrying bag), in addition to go-bags and vehicle emergency kits, these would be suitable for overnight hiking adventures.Although you may need to sleep with this wrapped around you, keep in mind they tend to make a bit of noise when you move around, so don't count on it being a completely restful experience. In addition to being a bit more heavy-duty than the standard silver blankets, I really appreciate the orange-color on one-side - it makes this suitable for emergency visibility as well. It could be used as a large orange flag to attract attention if needed.

I've been on the lookout for some emergency blankets for my kit. These definitely fit the bill. I had someone who is 6 feet tall hold this up for the photo and it is still draping on the ground. These are true to listed size, which is perfect to make sure you have enough material to fully wrap yourself up.Each blanket arrives in a plastic bag, and comes with its own drawstring bag. I was able to get this folded back up to fit inside the drawstring bag with relative ease. You just need to make sure to press out the air from the layers as you fold, so it isn't too puffy to fit back in.They do make a crinkly sound, but are not so noisy that it is annoying. Most importantly, they do insulate you so you don't lose heat. Great value and functionality for something I hope to never have to use.

Dual purpose safety blanket. It very effectively reflects your body heat while blocking wind and rain. The orange side really helps you stand out if you are by the side of the road or lost. It comes neatly folded in a small zip poly bag and a larger reusable drawstring nylon bag so you can use it and refold it to use again. Better than the flimsy single-use blankets.

Like a super mylar emergency blanket!I have some of the typical silver emergency blankets...and they're great to keep in the glove compartment...just in case.But...these are so much nicer!They...like the lightweight silver ones...are light weight and compact...but...unlike the silver ones...these are more substantial and should hold up to more than a single use. That being said...I hope I don't have multiple reasons to use any emergency products.I would either be a really poor planner or have a lot of "bad luck" if I'm constantly running into situations that would be considered an emergency! These are compact...store in a bag...are lightweight but durable...and the orange color makes them easy to see and also easy to find.Good to have for situations I hope I don't run into...but what a great thing to be able to keep family and friends warm if we need these blankets!

I keep this with me as a part of my 10 essentials when I'm hiking and backpacking.I recently brought this to a weekend backpack in snow and used it to add warmth during the 15°F lows. It is large and sturdy, but it smelled strongly of fish. After use, I was able to fold this back up and put it back into the drawstring storage bag. Which is impressive. Nice, large size.I'd say it's an okay buy if you don't have too sensitive of a nose.

I have been backpacking for 20+ years and have overlooked such a small item many times. No longer will i not have one of these in my gear as it could very well come in handy to help you. The storage bag to keep it packed away is a nice touch as well. With how light and small the item is should not be overlooked and added to your vehicle, hiking and camping setups. This item coming in a pack of 3 is a huge plus for me, highly recommend this product to go in your first aid boxes to your daily backpack.

I got these as emergency blankets just in case. They are a bit thicker than the standard blankets, and do keep you warm. They'll easily fit a regular person up to about 6' tall, but it they're particularly hefty, you'll need to use 2 blankets. I found them comfortable to use when we had a power outage, but beware of wearing to many layers under the blankets - you'll sweat quickly. I think they're a good value for the cost, and with a little care these are easily cleanable and reusable.

I haven't used these yet as I'm saving for an emergency, so it's hard to rate this. However, it offers a good piece of mind to have one in the car and ready to take camping or have around the house. It is a nice lightweight pouch for each, so they're easy to keep on hand without taking up space.
