Not a 3/8 bit. The bit is a little too small. It is just a hex bit, no size will fit

This product might work with soft soil, but it definitely doesn’t work with compacted or clay soil. It barely makes a dent in the ground before it just stops.

The auger did the job in different types of soil and made it easy for me to plant my zoysia plugs. I may use it to plant bulbs too or do some other job.
