There is literally a lot to unpack here with this sourdough starter kit. I am most impressed with how thorough the contents are from start to finish for the bread making process. I only needed my own mixing bowl to make the dough and do the first rise in. The 10-inch cast iron baking pot is a really nice one and I am officially replacing my old one with it. The bannetons are high quality, the silicone baking mat is thin but very usable and the proofing glass is unique and very functional. Also, beginners will benefit from the elastic schedule loop on this proofing glass. The included scale is rudimentary but usable. I learned that a tea stainer (also included) makes a great flour duster, much better than my mason jar with nail holes in the cover. This kit will help beginners by having everything needed instead of piecemealing baking utensils together to make sourdough baked goods. That and quality materials make this kit a winner IMO.

I am a beginner in sourdough making and thought this might save me some money and time. The cost is somewhat scary, but the Dutch oven alone makes up most of it. It is a quality piece that's heavy, solid, and has a matching lid! I'll be using that for a lot of things, not just baking bread. Some of the items it comes with I am not even sure how to use yet, but my friend who is giving me the starter for sourdough said it has everything I'll need.

This appears to be a good quality set with almost everything except the starter/mother you would need to make sourdough bread. I'm rating based on the quality of the products, not the end bread result since other factors including user error can occur. Again overall, I'm impressed by the set. Looking forward to getting started with making our own bread!Update- we've finally gotten around to getting started and found a few things that are annoyances for beginners. There are no cards or directions to tell exactly what each item is or how to use it. The "recipe manual" doesn't actually contain recipes or really any manual except a few notes about items like 'do not get the proofing baskets wet'. The included scale doesn't have English on the buttons, so you will need to keep the box handy to know what each button does, or make new labels for it.

Prepare for mini proof baskets and Dutch oven. It’s way smaller than it appears to be. Looks like it came from Temu not amazon. Everything else seems ok though. The mat is normal size, the sling is normal, the scale had Chinese on the controls instead of English. It’s just not what I expected

Horrible. Will not allow me to replace my broken items.My Dutch oven is broken, scale doesn't work, wooden baskets are broken, and the jar was broken in box. Very disappointed. REPLACE MY ITEMS!

I've been getting into making bread lately and this set is absolutely amazing -- has everything you need! The pot is really nice and can be used for other things -- besides bread. I have always wanted an enameled dutch oven, My only complaint is that while the scale in the picture is in English, the one I got was all in Chinese. Otherwise, it is a good set
