I'm teaching a camping class to a group of kids. These compasses worked well and were budget-friendly. The kids were excited to have their own compasses to learn to use and take home!

These are terrible compasses! I bought them to use in a classroom setting to teach students land navigation, and there they were fine, but in the field they are terrible! They have far too much friction on the needles, don't swing like the should, and are about as accurate as a phone compass. If your life depends on accurate navigation, stick to a known brand.

received today,9/30/2021, after first order was lost. immediately checked all 4, three would not indicate north. needles would wander then settle on random points. accuracy was checked with compass that did correctly indicate north and hold north. return to much of a hassle for amount paid. didn't expect military pinpoint accuracy but this is product is not useable as a compass in any sense. don't waste your money.
