I recently discovered the joy of using a surface conditioning tool, and have been exploring the different wheels that are available. These are moderately abrasive wheels, intended for finishing metal with a satin or brushed look to it. You can also use them to clean metal of light rust or corrosion. If it's heavy, or you're removing paint, these probably won't work well for you. I'd use another tool to get most of it off, and then these to progress through the different grits to get it to a nice finish. There's another assortment of higher grits in case you need them, and I'm going to try those as well. It all depends on what you're working on. For me, the cost per wheel here is really good and I'll get them again, they do a good job and hold up.
