Too long. The protruding fingers are too widely spaced apart. If they were closer, more would fit in. Or the column could be made significantly shorter, while retaining the same number of states. Makes distillation super difficult if not impossible. Even insulated, it requires too high a temperature to be applied to pot, which causes a risk of tar-ing. With the weak vapor pressure at the stillhead, a special head (with a prominent angle of tilt downwards) would be required to ensure condensation (and flow back) does not occur within the column, instead of in the condenser. Generic ones will not work. An alternative is to feed the vapor to a vertical condenser.Most condensers also start with a wide cross section that feeds into a smaller piping within the condenser itself. This constitutes a trap. If you have these, the vapor condenses in this trap, builds up, then flows back into column.I would return this, but it's too much hassle. I'll try to use it under vacuum instead.

Very long fractional column, with the appropriate 24/40’s. Glass is a little thin but that’s typical of glassware these days. Still works like a charm.Gotta mention the packing job. They wrapped it in foam, then a layer of plastic, then taped it to the wall inside a foam box. Took literally 6-7 minutes to get it out. There was zero chance this would break, which was my big hesitancy in buying it. Nice job!From China so it’ll take a while to get here (even without a pandemic), so be patient.I’ll definitely be buying their stuff again.

Deschem has some good quality glass for the price takes forever to arrive but it's never broken my first condenser tube was from deschem and it's still my go to condenser today and their the cheapest provider I know of
