Hardwood wall is 3/4 inch and the main shank is 3-1/2 inches; 58 inches tall. Custom sizes are available on a per job quote. The 4075 Plain Box Newels are made with lock mitered corners, which means they have no end grains, developing elegance. Also available fluted or in solid glue lams. Half-sawn 4075 Red Oak newels are available as an option with an 8 to 10 business day lead time to make and ship. I ordered 6 of these and they were great! Then my contractor needed one more so he placed the order and instead of being solid, it was completely hollow. He thought that he ordered the wrong one so I told him I would just order it from my order history It came and same thing, hollow. So bummed.

Although wrapped very well and the quality of wood is good, it arrived with chips missing in the trim. Iām using a dark stain so I can make it work and did not complain. Would have preferred 6ā+ taller for my install but this is all they offered.
