This is such a simple way to upgrade or install a handrail for the first time. If you find that you need one as a replacement, post-surgery, as you age, or to fill a space that has always needed one: don’t hesitate. If you own a drill and you have a friend you can install this. If you are already handy, you can be completely friendless and still install it.The mounting hardware on this is not at a fixed angle therefore you can pivot it to match the pitch of your steps/incline. While it does come with everything you need to install it you may want to consider using longer or different screws depending on the material you are installing in. ie: drywall, lathe & plaster, solid wood…I appreciate that there are end caps for this so that the hollow interior is not exposed and the entire thing is free of sharp edges.

I bought an 9' AND a 6' section to replace the old, oak-stained railings in my two story home and boy, what a difference! They are SO EASY to mount, and are totally adjustable based upon the incline of your stairs - - I followed the degree/angle from my old set and simply screwed them into the studs. A little bit of spackle and paint over the old holes and no one will ever know - plus, it absolutely updated my home!

This handrail kit works great. It's hinged, so it'll match up to any spacing of steps. Also, the mounting points aren't fixed, so it doesn't have to correspond to any specific stud arrangements. And, I like that the mounting hardware is a solid, forged piece that looks like it'll handle any reasonable weight. The kit includes screws for attaching the handrail that seem ok, but we went with some upgraded structural screws just to be certain. The handrail itself is a square aluminum tube that's sturdy enough, though the square shape is a bit uncomfortable to use. Also, the anodized (?) exterior looks durable, but the unit I received had some scratches that must have occurred before the handrail was packaged. Fortunately, the damaged side could be positioned on the underside where it can't be seen.

Nice upgrade to my stairs without needing to hire anyone. Install was straightforward, once I marked where I wanted the brackets, the whole thing only took about 10 minutes. It feels really solid when in use. The only thing I’m a bit unsure about is the pivoting brackets, they make adjusting the angle easy, but I wonder if the screws might loosen over time and cause a little wobble. We'll see, but for now, it's working great.

Smaller than expected in width but otherwise a nice piece of hardware for any outdoor railing. Very easy to install. Comes capped off already.

Nice stair rail. Needed a second one so that my husband could use both hands to help him get up the stairs after heart surgery. Looks nice and is sturdy. Easy to put together and install
