Had mine installed by a friend with good tools, but with that job done thoroughly, it is quite a solid addition to the safety of my home with just a couple of stairs to the back patio.

I bought this for my wife who has MS to use to get in and out of our kitchen door. It's very stable and helps her a lot! She loves it!

The hand rail assembly gets 4 stars, but the mounting accessories get 2 stars.The hand rail assembly is solid with a nice coat of paint that is almost perfect. It would get a 5-star rating if the rail tubes were welded to the baseplate. This one uses two machine bolts (probably 8mm) to attach the rail to the 1/8” thick baseplate. It is good, but could be even stronger and have less wiggle. The base plate has 6 predrilled holes that are recessed for flat head screws. The holes are around the perimeter so if you were to place the plate next to a door casing, the screws near the casing might hit the king stud in the door framing. (On the exterior door to the garage, I had to move mine ½” away from the casing so the screws did not go between the king and jack studs.)While I am not a fan of the provided attachment accessories, what is really upsetting is what is missing. No where is the purchaser told, either online or in the box, that for maximum safety the baseplate needs to be attached to structure, and not just to hollow walls. Also, give the novice DIY’s some help---indicated what the recommended heights are for hand rails. For the record, other similar products on Amazon at this price point have the same shortcomings.As for the anchor accessories, the six plastic anchor inserts are ok. The six included plastic anchors can be used in masonry walls which is fine, but using just them alone in drywall is unsatisfactory even with 6 attachment points. But don’t you get added strength with 6 attachment points? Yes, especially if you are using toggle bolts, but the provided screws are not satisfactory. They are thin, with a fine thread, and only 1-1/2” long.We have installed ours in the garage where we have three steps into the house. We could have used white or stainless steel for the color, but I think the black is much more visible against the light-colored walls. I was fortunate to be able to attach all 6 screws to studs so we have maximum strength. It would have been satisfactory to have 3 of the screws attached to a stud with good wood screws and the other three attached with good quality drywall anchors. If you want larger screws recessed in the baseplate, #10 fit perfectly. Larger screws, #12 and #14, fit the hole, but stand proud of the surface and if you want to use ¼” lags, you will need to enlarge the holes. I used black exterior ¼” truss head screws.

The 26.8-inch length is perfect for providing sturdy support on my outdoor steps. The U-shaped design is both functional and aesthetically pleasing, blending seamlessly with my exterior decor. Installation was straightforward, and the handrail feels very secure. I feel much safer using my steps.I recommend this product.

I installed one of these for my 90 year old parents. Once my uncle saw how solid it was he ordered one for himself. Very high quality with a great paint job and all parts are included for the install

Our son has Parkinson's Disease andwe put this handrail in our garage so our son would have it to help steady him as he came down the stairs into the garage. It was extremely easy to install.
