I got these springs are the riding lawn mower. They are good and tight and fairly strongly wound. They are for engaging (turning on), the blades with a lever arm so they have to be of good strength and flexibility.I like the fact they give you multiple of them, (a pack of 4), so if one does happen to develop a problem, you can swap it out right away if the need does arise. My old spring got stretched out too much for years of use so I got these as replacements. They appear to be quite functional and offer a fair amount on tension to engage the blades. Now the mower is working like it should. These are good quality springs.

I used one the first time and couple of five minutes later was broken. Didn’t resist the tension,I had to use doble spring to make it work.

When these arrived I was playing around pulled one apart by hand (granted, with handles, not just my bare fingers) and it didn't return to its original length. (See pic.) I know that's not the intended use case, but it gives me pause about the quality of the springs. FWIW, I tired it with two of the other springs, and they returned just fine. So if you don't need all four your odds may be fine. Otherwise they seem like great springs with a good amount of tension.
