Both the first one and the replacement I received are defective. The bracket is not cut properly and blocks a port. Stay away.

Was disappointed this unit came beige despite being advertised as black which is why I gave the lower rating.Functions properly with all ports occupied. Going on 3 weeks no USB issues. If you want your USB devices to power off when shut down, Enable ERP Energy Setting in Your BIOS. May or may not be an available setting depending on the age of your motherboard.

I needed more USB ports and had two headers available on my motherboard so decided to try this. I was originally concerned that this might be flimsy junk or that the cords wouldn't reach, but I was proven wrong. The plastic molding is very strong and the cords were long enough to easily reach the motherboard. In fact, I had to loop them to take out some of the slack. If you have the connections on your motherboard, this is an expensive way to get four USB ports without buying another board. The only warning is the plastic molding extends a good inch behind the bracket. Therefore, if you have a tight space or components sticking up, it may not fit. However, the plastic is no wider than the actual bracket so you don't need to worry about it interfering with other slots.

Easy install. Plug and play. Was able to free up some USB 3.0 ports using this after my VIA host controller decided to stop working after 2 months on my Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H (beware of anything VIA.....even the sound is controlled by VIA and the driver is crap). There apparently isn't any software solution for the VIA problem, so instead of RMA-ing the board, just got this bracket. Has more than enough length to reach my USB headers. Hasn't had any problems yet. Seems solid. Definitely recommend. Why spend more on something that works perfectly for less?

I purchased this PCI bracket to add four USB ports to a Mac Pro case modification. I purchased this expansion bracket specifically because of the black cables - I was trying to avoid any further modification for my dark-themed case mod. I am unhappy to say that I was sent a computer-gray version, the very thing I had tried to avoid by purchasing this bracket. If you are drawn in by the black cables, you may want to think again.Four stars was awarded to this product because it works, however I am pretty displeased with the fact that I now have to further modify this cable to get rid of the ugly beige-gray color that I was otherwise trying to avoid. Aside from this, the product seems relatively well made, and I have had no electronics issues thus far. I should note that the cables themselves are rather short (perhaps 7-9 inches) and may not work for all motherboards.

Works great! Ports are close together, but ok for most devices. To add a couple more ports spaced further apart I added a second adapter with just 2 ports on it.It seems like most of the USB hubs on the market are gimmicky junk. Some sell here on Amazon for $5 that have 7 ports and only a 500mA power adapter (enough juice for just one USB 2.0 port). If you look around and do some research and pay good money you can find a decent hub that isn't flaky.....or you can spend $5-$10 and add ports directly to your motherboards USB controller using all those internal USB headers you didn't even know you have. Plus they're powered by your giant AC power supply, not some rinkydink underpowered hub. Yes, they're way in the back of the PC...so what? It's not like you're using all your slot covers for stuff.

doesn't really perform at full usb 2.0 speeds, didn't notice it took up 2 usb internal connector slots till I got it, and doesn't attach to the case very well, while my other parts fasten down fine this remains flimsy. at least it works at all.
