I got these to start my pepper and tomato seeds for this year in. I always rehydrate these in boiling water to sterilize them, soil sponges tend to mold easily if they dont have good air flow and aren't clean to begin with. They are super easy to use, just rehydrate them and drop the seed of your choice into the hole in the center. I always tear a little piece off and place it over the hole to cover the seed too. They hold moisture well, so make sure not to overwater or you could get root rot on your seedlings. These are great starter pods and I always have great germination and initial growth. Be sure to get these into a bigger pot as soon as you see roots coming out of the sides of pod!

The plugs are great. Excellent water retention and at half the cost of others

Absorbs water quicklyEasy to put seeds in place and put in machineAll seedlings are coming in strong and pods are giving a sturdy place for them to get stronger. As I am writing this review I am on my 2nd go around with these pods, the first time I used I got herbs that grow faster than expected and the roots were rather huge (thick)I am very happy with how well these pods help me grow my herbs

I use hydroponics as a hobby, and these pods fit nicely into one of my units. The price is decent, they feel right, and the plants are growing in them pretty much like I would expect. I've saved them to my gardening list and will probably use these again.

Compared to most grower plugs I have worked with:These are much smaller although they did expand a bit when wet. They are much denser and not as porous, felt more like a sponge.Have a bigger, more convenient opening for the seed or cutting.50-count is less expensive than many brands.

These are great for a square hydroponic setup or if you want larger sponges. There’s a good number of them in there, which I really like, and they’re nicely absorbent without getting soggy.
