The sprouting rate is very good but we split the group into two separate patches with differing results. One has really taken off, the other is "okay." The patches are less than 60 feet apart. The great patch looks like 95-100% sprouting and is just taking off. The okay patch looks to be about 80 to 90% and isn't growing quite as fast. Overall, I'm impressed and so far I'm very happy. For reference, these were planted in what I would call Tennessee clay. The soil is rich but a bear to deal with.

A decent variety of red/white/yellow bulbs--I wish I knew the varieties. All of the ones I've planted are "waking up" after 4 or 5 days with vigorous green shoots, so I thought I'd write a review to report just that. I put them in a mixture of Fox Farm Ocean Forest and Fox Farm Happy Frog with some extra peat moss. Oh, I don't know why the company's insert regarding growing these onions states "onions have very low nitrogen needs.."--I would suggest one do further research on that statement if one wants to grow onions like the ones in the store (or better).
