Is the refrigerator in your garage not keeping your food frozen or cool enough?
Your issue may be that there isn’t enough heat to trigger the appliance to start working.
This Garage Heater Kit will help your garage refrigerator know that it needs to keep the contents cold even in the cooler temperature of your garage.
Easy to Install
1.Unplug the refrigerator from electrical oulet.
2.Remove 4 screws holding control box to cabinet.
3.Unplug the Molex connector.
4.Remove 2 screws holding defrost timer to control box.
5.Pull back defrost timer.
6.Bend the heater into a U shape.
7.Peel off the paper backing of heater.
8.Align heater holes with defrost timer mounting pegs. Place heater against control box and press down over full surface of heater.
9.Set defrost timer back into position and screw in place.
10.Unplug 2 leads from cold control(Orange and Black wires).
11. Plug orange lead to orange heater lead, then back onto cold control.
12.Plug black lead to blace heater lead, then back to cold control.
13.Reinstall cold control box by first plugging in Molex connector.
14.Screw control box back into refrigerator cabinet using 4 screws you removed ealier.
15.Plug refrigerator into electrical outlet.

Had this installed in about 20 minutes, and now my refrigerator will work well even in the coldest temps in my garage. I would recommend a toggle switch to be installed so it can be turned off during the summer months.

Not sure exactly WHY this works, but it does. Fridge & freezer now cools properly in my unhealed garage. Just remember to install with a switch inline so it can be switched off in warm weather (above 40°F).

So far works great! Dropped to -1 and still keeping things in the fridge at temperature. I added a switch to turn it off in the summer months. Easy to install, keeps things fresh.

The item was easy to install and is works well so far. My garage refrigerator is 96 Kenmore side by side refrigerator. The concern I have is that the unit will now run all the time as the purpose for the device is to artificially warm the thermostat to make the compressor kick on for cooling. I suggest that It is a good idea to put a on/off mechanical switch on the heater so that in normal temperature conditions the heater can be manually turned off and will not artificially trigger the thermostat to make the compressor stay on full time. Doing this will allow the refrigerator to work as previously set up in regular climate conditions. This is a simple process and videos are available on you tube for DIY. I would buy again if I were to replace with new garage refrigerator.

Do you have a garage fridge? Does your ice cream melt in the winter? You need this.It's a small resistance heater that warms the area around the refrigerator's temperature sensor causing the compressor to kick on more often. This is important in the winter since the compressor will not turn on enough in a 40 degree garage and melt your ice cream.Installation will vary with model, but most units have the sensor in the plastic tunnel that houses the light in the refrigerated section.

This heater works great for keeping my garage fridge running when the garage gets cold. Noticed the freezer food wasn't frozen, turned this on and 10 mins later the fridge was running. Note: by "turned this on" I mean I also installed a simple on/off toggle switch in-line with this heater so I can only turn it on when needed in colder months. Easy to do and may keep your compressor from running constantly year-round. Check internet for how-to videos.
