HOW TO USE?

Just set the DIP switch pattern of new remote control to be the same as the DIP switch pattern of the originalremote control.

Make sure your original remote has the same DIP switch.

NOTE: Set different PIN code if control multiple ceiling fans

  1. If you control multiple ceiling fans in the house, please check the PIN code settings are different between these, or it may let transmitter next door or your neibourhood's remote activates this ceiling fan in your other rooms. This may cause the fan turning on strangely while you are not at home.
  2. If you have PULL CHAINS SWITCH, before using the wireless remote control, use the PULL CHAINS SWITCH to turn the wind speed to maximum and turn the fan light on. Only in this way can the PULL CHAINS SWITCH and wireless remote control be used together.

Our old ceiling fan remote and receiver stopped working so we got this to replace it. We just had our electrician swap out the old receiver and put batteries in this remote and it works as intended. It uses dip switches to control the frequency and works well with our Hunter fan. The remote is simple and has easy to read buttons.

I used this kit to add remote control functionality to our bedroom ceiling fan. My biggest concerns were fitting the control box inside the ceiling fan housing and that the remote would be large and ugly if mounted on the wall.Installation took about 30 minutes and I am handy with wiring and home improvements. Since the ceiling fan had already been installed, I had to remove the blades when taking the fan motor assembly off of the ceiling and replace them afterwards. For a new fan installation, I don’t think it will take as long. I was struggling to figure out how the interface would fit until I read the instructions and it showed it in one of the diagrams. Nice! The wires are of a good gauge and well insulated. The small wire nuts provided probably will not fit on existing solid copper wiring. But I reused the larger wire nuts that were already used to connect the fan wires to those in the electrical junction box. The remote control is quite large. You can see it next to a 9 V battery which is used to power it, but the battery is not provided in the kit. The dimming function works by holding the light button down and letting up on it when the desired light level is reached. A nice feature is that it auto resumes the previous light level when turning the light on and off. There are also no beeps coming from the unit or the remote control. This wireless fan control unit allowed me to adapt a drum shade light fixture to fit on the bottom of the ceiling fan without having to worry about the fan and light control pull chains going inside or around the drum shade. Overall, I’m very pleased with this unit and I think it’s an excellent value for the price.

Perfect replacement for the original fan control that had failed. Installation was simple, all of the wires were color coded and labelled exactly as the original. Remote functions just as it should (same as original). If needed the directions were clear.

Add a remote to any ceiling fan with this kit. Comes with all you need to get it done. Also includes a remote holder you can easily mount to the wall plate for easy storage. Be sure to set the dip switches as needed before you install. Wiring diagram is included to help. Easy to install even if you are not a professional. No battery is included so you may need to get a 9v for it. It's working great and is built well.

I have an older Hampton Bay fan (over 20 years) that has one of the older remotes that also includes a thermometer and thermostat that will turn the fan on and off at a set temperature range. I was bummed to find out that this remote is no longer available, and it has stopped operating the fan and lights. I changed the dip swith in the remote to match a fan in a different room, and found out the remote was still working fine, so it was obviously a problem with the receiver located in the bell housing on the fan itself where it attached to the ceiling. This wonderful little item comes with a basic remote, and a receiver that it turns out is exactly the same as the old one I had go out. By switching the receiver in the fan (up by the base where it attached to the ceiling) with the new one, and setting the dip switches to the same settings that were on the old remote it completely fixed my non-working fan, and it now works with my old remote that has the fan auto off/on feature. I am so happy! I also now have a spare remote that I keep on the same dip switch setting, and have it on the other side of the room in case I need it for turning the light on from that side of the room. The light is still adjustable for brightness with the light button on the remotes too, which is great. This remote does not support reversing direction, but neither did my old one. The switch on the side of the fan motor itself that can switch the direction manually still works fine however, so nothing lost in the process. I didn't have to remove the fan from its ceiling hanger to remove and replace the receiver, but I cannot say for sure if that would be the case for every fan. Wiring is very simple to swap out, and if you are installing this on a fan that did not previously have a remote there are instructions provided, and it is an easy job other than needing to climb a ladder, or, worse case scenario, take down the fan from its bracket, and reinstall it after wiring the receiver in. Mine would not have needed to have the fan taken down at all, but like I said earlier, your fan may be different. This works great, is easy to put up, and the receiver was exactly identical to my old receiver. This is a great product for a great price, and I can recommend it. 5 Stars!

I got a wall plate for my ceiling fan and needed a remote control as well so I got this. All of my setup now uses dip switches. My ceiling fan doesn't require batteries because of a remote but can now use them. I wish this came with a 9V though, that's a little bit of a hassle. Asking for a USB C rechargeable remote I feel would probably be a little too much, but they could've at least included a battery.

I ordered this for the ceiling fan on our sun porch. We just purchased this home and there is not a switch to control the fan. We had to use the pull cords. It was a pain.My husband installed this today and said everything that he needed was included except a 9 volt battery for the remote. The install was easy. The fan and the fan light now work with the remote.I am not sure of the age of the Hampton Bay ceiling fan, but it is probably at least five years old.We are happy with this item.
