On my Jeep Grand Cherokee 2017, when I plugged it in my dash lights went crazy and my check engine light lit. Of course, I unplugged it but had to take the Jeep in to get the ECU re-programmed costing over $200 CDN. Maybe it is just not happy with the Jeep, but i have heard other good review. I now have a cool looking paperweight.

I bought this to fit in my Toyota Voxy because the dash is difficult to read in certain conditions. When I plug it in the ABS light continually flashes and the HUD does not function. It shows battery voltage but all other guages stay at their zero value. I notice it has various settings that could potentially have an affect on this such as ECU rate, Locked Protocol and Special Cars but the manual gives no information as to when these functions should be used or what they do. Will be returning.

I have a 2016 acura ilx. I bought this specific HUD because its supposed to show what gear youre in, its not even close to being accurate, it goes off of speed i think because in reverse it shows 1st gear because it reads your speed, and then when driving will randomly go up or down depending on what speed youre going. The 2nd time i go to drive my car after configuring what settings i want showed, my car throws 4 hard codes that would not go away even after unplugging hud, for power steering, lane depature, traction control, and emissions. I will say, even with the codes, the hud still displayed speed and rpm properly, but i no longer had traction control working and had a bunch of lights on my dash so it is not worth the trade off and potential danger risk of no TC. other cars may not be affected the same but its a hard no with my acura. I will be returning it

This HUD does what it says. Just got it today, so no long-term eval yet...but I did some driving to check it out. Overall, I like it. Helps keep my focus on the road without losing track of speed or time. The display has an attractive use of color, although I'd prefer red to preserve night vision. Here are answers to a few questions I had before buying.Windshield reflector is repositionable. (Check position with sun visor both up and down.) The unit also comes with a sticky pad to hold it in place on your dashboard, also repositionable. My dashboard has a gentle curve (2010 F-150), and it stays put.The configuration menu is pretty robust, but lacks a couple things. Mostly-adequate explanations in the manual, if you're good at interpreting Engrish. Individual display elements can be turned off, except the speedo. There's also a setting to display only the speedo at 80+ KM/H (about 49+ MPH).Gear (transmission) display seems to suggest what gear you should be in, but has no relationship to the actual gear the transmission is in. To test this, I got up to speed and shifted (automatic trans) to neutral. It kept displaying the top gear. It also doesn't know the difference between Park and Drive--zero MPH is "P". Reverse appears to be a foreign concept. I just keep this display element turned off as it's useless in an automatic, IMHO. It also unclutters the display just a bit.Speedo units can be changed to MPH (default KM/H). The ratio of road speed to speedo readout is adjustable. The analog meter in my truck has read fast from day one. I compared the HUD reading to a GPS, stopped, adjusted the setting in the HUD, lather rinse repeat until they tracked together. There is a configurable speed alarm (about 6 beeps and a flashing "!"). One option alarms at 60, 80, 100, 120 KM/H. Another alarms at a configurable speed. I have it set for 121 KM/H (75 MPH).Fuel economy stays in L/100K(?) regardless of speedo units. Tops out at 20. To understand this, I've made it as far as "lower numbers are better." :P It's a momentary reading rather than an average.Time display is 24 hours with a period separating the hours and minutes. No choice for 12-hour clock. I can't comment yet on how well it keeps time. The two right-hand displays (econ/voltage--whole number/off) and (RPM--numeric/inlet pressure/water temp--numeric/clock/voltage--decimal/ignition angle/acceleration time/off) can be switched on the fly.

Ok, let me be clear here, the directions are really really weird and clearly translated to rough English and kind of hard to understand. BUT if you set the settings correctly and go through the 4 MILLION settings it has and TAKE YOUR TIME, the thing actually works really well. You will need to do a bit of trial and error to figure this thing out. Also it is really quick to respond to rpm and speed, Especially if you set the Polling speed to max (this is how quickly it updates the displays, so turn this all the way up if you can, This is actually just fast enough to use to shift with the stick shift I have in my M3) Ive owned two different ones of these things and this one is actually great even with the issue I have, when I start the car it will not show anything but 0's so i unplug it and plug it back in and presto it works. I believe there is actually a setting for this somewhere but I do not know what the value is actually doing so I don't know where to set it. The speed, Temp, RPM Gauge, and digital RPM Readout are actually really accurate and IF YOU USE THE REFLECTOR (just use it) the brightness is actually pretty good and adjusts rather quickly and shows a clear image with no double image if you find an actual good spot on your dashboard where the entire image fits in the frame of the reflector, I stuck it in a few spots with two corners of the reflector touching *then sat back and made sure it fit the whole screen* to find the optimal spot. Honestly though I really like it and the price isn't bad at all, I say worth it. Realistically it does what I expected.Pros:Updates fast and accurate to the exact speed as the digital readout on my actual dashReflector just barely fits the whole display not too large and I moved and restuck it a few times without issueLOTS of settings and options to customize it.good brightness even with the roof down on a sunny day (not amazing but still really decent)One of the ONLY displays that actually goes to 8000 rpm on the gauge and is really accurate, all others go to 6k or 7k which is not enough for my M3's 8400RPM redlineHas a flat cable that is long and actually pretty easy to hideIts 35 Bucks, keeps your eyes looking toward the road and has BIG clear letteringCons:Way to many settings that do not state how they are adjusted. like Speed is like 107 but up does what and down does... what? and gas is at 20 like what does that mean? A bit of a pain to set upI had to turn the speed chime and every other chime off because they are really annoying. It's big, like you better not have a tiny dashboard, it has to cover a bit of my defroster vent to fit because it won't fit in front because the dash in front of the steering wheel is round and... well... it isn't so it will not sit there so its over to the right quite a bit.I cannot figure out how the fuel works so I disabled itA little glitchy due the thing not working when starting the car, but unplugging and plugging back in has worked every time.

First the pros:1) The layout and colors are easy to read.2) Installation and getting it set up was not difficult. The cons:1) The instructions are difficult to read because the print is very small.2) The speed indicator has a tendency to get stuck on a random speed and will not unstick until you turn the engine off, wait for a couple of minutes and then turn the engine back on. It has happened several times. There's no way to predict when it will happen. I think it's a software error. Their engineers need to take a look at it. Better quality control is needed too. As you can see in the picture, the speed reads 49 MPH, but the car is not moving at all. At some point in my commute, I reached that speed and it decided to stay there.I'm giving it 3 stars because when it works, it works great. I would give it 5 stars if they could fix the issue with the speed indicator.
