I purchased this tamp because the little plastic one that came with my Rancilio is not only light and cheap but too small for the basket! Rancilio messed up big time on that one. Anyway I bought this one because it was cheap and the right size. Decent weight to it and the wood handle looks nice. I don't think there's any merit to buying any one tamp over another. This one will do ya just fine.

Fits well in my 58mm portafilter baskets.It is solid and weighty in your hand.Along with the chunky wood handle for a grip, it feels assured and purposeful to hold it.

This tamper feels LUXURIOUSit's so heavy, I didn't expect this much out of it but damn did it deliver.great finish, size fit perfectly into my Gaggia portafilter, and the handle looks very classy.and after all that - you even get a rubber mat (!). not the prettiest finish, but feels like good rubber.only improvement would be applying locktite to the thread since it's not perfectly grounded, but it's up to you. 10/10 would recommend again!
