Operation stepts：
1. Attach the display unit to the outside of the tank using the suction cups and submerge the probe into the water in the tank.
2. Press and hold the power (PWR) button to turn on. Hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn off.
When temperature is higher than 70°C or lower than -50°C, "H°C" or "L°C" pops up on the screen. The main display unit of the thermometer must be kept away from water because it is not waterproof.

The cord between read out and the gauge thing is super long on this.I put the probe part at the back of the tank, out of the way and stuck the display part on the side and had to wrap up a lot of cord.Like that the display is always on, though I wonder how long the battery will last. Has worked problem free since I got it.

This aquarium thermometer is a very no-frills solution for monitoring your aquarium temperature. It is a plastic bodied device with a simple LCD screen without backlighting, much like one you'd find on a simple calculator.As such, it uses very little power and seems to run for a decent amount of time off of a coin cell; during the two weeks I've had it, it hasn't shown sign of needing a replacement.It can be switched between Celsius or Fahrenheit by a small switch below the screen. Be warned, however, the switch is made to be quite stiff, likely to prevent accidental operation. It can also be turned on and off by a button.The temperature readings appear to be decently accurate. The probe cable is long and allows for taking temperatures in deep aquariums or more remote areas of your tank. The probe can be attached to the glass by a suction cup, which is provided, as well as another suction cup for attaching the main body as well.I would recommend this thermometer for those that want to keep a better eye on their aquariums. The display is easier to read at a glance, as opposed to a digital heater or a conventional bulb thermometer.
