Sworker 5 Pcs Long Shank Carbide Burrs Shank Dia.=3mm, Total L. 105mm to 113mm, 1 Clamshell Plastic Box with Hook, 1 Paper Box and 1 Manual. Compatible w/ Dremel 1/8"(3.175mm) collect.

1. In general, burrs are used counter-rotationally or with a swinging motion. Pass the tool rapidly and lightly over the workpiece in the direction of rotation to achieve fine finishes and chamfers.

2. Don't apply too much pressure on the rotary tool, multiple light passes are better than a single deep one. Let the speed do the work. Do not exceed the max idling and application speed.

3. Clamping more shank depth of the burrs bits, inserting the shank of bits to the bottom of clamping is optimal. If you have to clamp the less shank, please low the rotary tool rotation speed.

4. Use only 3mm or 1/8"(3.175mm) rigid clamp system(collect and nut). 3-jaws-chuck drills are not optimal, the high-speed rotary tools optimal. Compatible w/ Dremel 1/8"(3.175mm) collect.

5. Don't sink the carbide burr for more than 1/3 of its periphery. Recommendation for drives: 3mm shank from 75 to 300W, for coarse cuts, 500W+ and short larger shank burrs are optimal.

6. Avoid impact loads, otherwise the parts teeth will break off, shank will bend. For soft materials, such as aluminum, use a lubricant to reduce debris clogging. Use water as lubricant for glass.

7. Avoid lifting the burr away from the workpiece when starting, operating and stopping the tool, if your rotary tool works at a high speed(≥3000RPM). Using a foot switch is an excellent solution.

8. Always wear ear, eye, face protection and safety gloves. Grip the rotary tool firmly with both hands and use a swinging motion to minimizes the risk of kickback or wobble or sudden movement.

Notes: Bent Risk

The tungsten carbide burr bits must remain in contact with the workpiece as long as the tool is running or turning on or turning off moment. Failure to observe this procedure may result in burr shank bent and an increased injuries risk. If the continuous contact between the bits and the workpiece is not guaranteed, the max idling speeds should not be exceeded. Max idling speed without contact to workpiece: 3000RPM, Max application speed with contact to workpiece: 12000RPM.

I haven't use carbide burs before, I do have some experience grinding out a port on a head using a dremmel tool and I can see how these longer shafts would be helpful. They appear to be well balanced as they don't wobble at any speed. The length of the shafts that gives accessibility also reduces the amount of control and pressure available, but that is not the fault of this item. I used it on a piece of scrap steel and was able to grind away a little with no visible damage to the burr.

These are very high quality and long shafted so reaching hard to reach areas is no problem with these. These are very nice for a dremel which tends to be just for bits that are close to the drill ... this extends the usefulness of the dremel and makes grinding at a distance so easy and these are high quality carbide bits.Very happy with the real life functionality of these which makes them a great value for the money.I am not an expert grinder by any means, but I can see a hundred different use cases for these. These are going straight into my dremel toolbox and will be used for many years.

Item is as advertised and the length of the bits has proved to be an added bonus. Very happy with purchase.

These are really handy to have in addition to the regular-sized grinding bits I had for my dremel. The extra length opens up far more options for working on jobs – for example it's easy to grind something almost parallel to the substrate, which is a huge advantage in my opinion. One of the first things i did with them was customize the shape of a wood handle, and with the long circular bit i could reach under and around the handle no problem without even moving it once in the vise. Highly recommended!

For me, the best way to learn is hands on, making mistakes.Carving wood with a rotary tool takes patience and making some mistakes. The general idea is that many short shallow passes are better than trying to claw out the entire bit in a single pass.Once you get going and find a rhythm, it's super fun, the hard part for me is knowing when to stop, so I tend to overcorrect. It helps to sketch things out first and to use a lot of pencil marks.Overall, this is a good set for a beginner.

I ordered the Sworker 5Pcs Long Carbide Burr Set 1/8" Shank Total L 4.4" Compatible with Dremel Die Grinder.I am using them to access spaces I never could before while pursuing a hobby of mine, carved wood sculpture. They work excellently for it. I can now quickly shape areas that were previously difficult to reach, and another, much slower method would have been required. I was worried that at 10,000 RPMs, the length might cause them to wobble a lot, but they don't, and I am very pleased with them. They are very sharp and, at high speed, cut through hardwood quickly and easily. After using one for about 10 minutes, I checked to see what kind of shape it was in, and once brushed, it still looked like new. These burrs should last a long time, I haven't tested them onmetal, however I am sure they would grind aluminum just fine, for thing like porting intake manifold on cars.Their price makes them an exceptional value, and I highly recommend them.

I picked these up because I use a straight carbide burr that has the standard 1.5" shank but needed a little more reach. I use them to alter feed ramps on a AR barrel extension. These are good and sharp. However, this long of shank will have significant vibration till you find the right speed, then it runs smooth. Just run it fast. I will likely cut the shanks to about 2" because that's about the perfect length for my purpose. That's what is nice about these is you can shorten it up for you needs. I can't stretch the standard 1.5" so these will work perfect for my needs.

This 5 piece Tungsten Carbide (WC) Burr Set, is a must have for when needed. I’ve never had a set of these extended 4.4 inch x 1/8 inch shank Burr's before now. The uses are endless. Not only can they extend your reach to de-burr, but they can also be used for trimming, cutting, enlarging etc….on most soft materials. Especially when nothing else will fit when a longer reach is needed. They are made of equal parts Tungsten (W) and Carbon (C), which has a high melting point and is 2nd only to Diamond in hardness, (Holy Crap Batman!!). Just be sure to read the “BENT RISK” in the sellers listing. They are packaged in a solid 5 slot case for easy storage. Life is Good!! This 5pc Tungsten Carbide Burr Set Rates High on the Claydog Approval Scale!! Enough Said, Wrench Drop!! Thanks for your time, Claydog
