Made from super durable carbon steel, two sides of the scraper has serrated edge,

Angle the scraper at about a 45-degree angle on the rod, use the serrated edge to scrape.

Good but not great. Works fine, but I test any new striker against one I made myself out of the business edge from an old set of Fiskars scissors. No comparison, I'm afraid. Still, not a bad purchase if you're not experimental like me. I'm a little unsure what to do with the rounded teeth on the one end. Maybe meant for scraping shavings from a ferro rod? If so, I don't feel like they work all that well. Just the same, the long edges are stamped in a way that there's the slightest burr on one side, making them work pretty well for scraping sparks from the rod. I was worried that the paint would detract from that, but not the case. I'm giving these out as a part of a small ferro rod set for members of an annual fishing trip this year. Also great to give Scouts once they've achieved their Firem'n Chit requirements for fire building, or as a stocking stuffer or thank you gift for any outdoors person. Recommended.

These ferro rod strikers are heavy duty and well built. They are definitely worth the price. My only complaint with this company is the shipping and handling for an item much less than an ounce was as much as the strikers themselves.

I haven’t tried these yet but they seem sturdy & coatings are nice. They pack away easily in small kits for hiking/camping. Seems like a nice value for the money so far.

Light weight, throws off a great spark on all grades/hardness of Ferro rods. I would not hesitate to buy these again or recommend them to anyone. Well worth the money!

These are great. They bite into the ferro rod better than my other striker which allows for a better cluster of sparks. The ergonomics are just right and the gussets keep the material from flexing. Also coated to prevent rust.

This is the best striker ever. Light weight man it's a work horse. Fits the fingers perfectly. Will dig into a ferro rod and throw alot of sparks with very little effort.. only bad part.. they only come in 5 packs.. 10 pack of these dudes I feel is in order. I highly recommend them

For the money in comparison to other strikers out there this one works good, is lightweight, compact so easy to carry tucked in a bag or even on a keychain. The green color makes them camouflaged if dropped especially in grassy area but that issue is easily remedied by painting a brighter color of choice.
