These are extremely rugged containers ideal for carrying small items that need to stay dry and uncrushed. They're also popular in the geocache community as a cheap, durable way to cache log sheets. This would be a great way to carry a fire kit, a USB key with your important documents, money, an emergency fishing or snare kit, bait, etc.

I use these for Geocaching. Used in the upright position with the cap at the top vertically they seem to be fairly watertight. That doesn’t prevent condensation from getting any of the cap if the cap is left loose

I have used these to store drill screwdriver bits for 6 years, hauling them around in my tool caddies, and they are really durable. I highly recommend!!!!

I am using these for geocaches that I'm hiding. It is my goal to make caches that are of high quality, low-maintenance and fun to find. I get annoyed at unmaintained caches or poorly done caches in pill bottles or film canisters, which break easily and are not always watertight.I am currently creating a series of winter-friendly caches that hang in trees for a quick grab. This is common in Europe, so I wanted to make my own series. They work well wrapped in camo tape and hung with a bent coat hanger.I brought a few of these "PET tubes" from Europe and then ordered these. The one thing I'm unhappy about is that the lids seem flimsy compared to the ones from Europe, so it seems they could break easily. It also seems like it's possible to overtighten.I thought I'd give this a test. I put paper inside and submerged the tubes in the bathtub. The paper stayed completely dry. I threw it out of the second floor window onto the driveway - barely a scratch. So I am counting on these to be good durable caches that don't turn into junk like some caches I find.As far as the lids go, I guess worst-case, the lids can be replaced with any soda bottle lid.For value - They seem a bit expensive, over $2 each, whereas the ones from Europe were only a euro each. However, after reading mixed reviews of preform tubes from other sellers, this one is the best choice, and I'd recommend. One more thing to add, they are not tinted grey like in the picture. They are clear. But that doesn't matter to me since I wrapped them in camo tape anyway.

I use these for a variety of things. I like that they seal up nicely and are impervious to water getting in. They're great for storing matches and tinder for a small fire-making kit as well as hooks, line and sinkers for a small fishing kit to go in a survival kit. Perfect for a small sewing kit, keeping meds dry, and any other small item you want to protect from the elements. Great for building a survival or bug-out bag. These things are not fragile and can take a beating.

Now that I have it in my hands, it is a lot bulkier than I anticipated, even though I knew the dimension ahead of time. Of course, it is the robustness of this bottle that attracted me to it to begin with. The external size to content volume ratio will make it less efficient to pack into the one gallon plastic bag that the TSA check requires. The volume is about 40ml.I intend to use 2 bottles to carry almost 3 doses of liquid medicine. It is less bulky than a large fat bottle that the medicine came it. The slim bottle(s) will slip into my jacket pocket easily. My work requires me to have lots of face to face meetings. I drink a lot of coffee and that means coffee breath. I carry mouth wash with me. Again, the slim bottle makes it easy. AND ... airplane compression and decompression had made my original mouthwash bottle leaked. It made a mess. This cap will hold!40ml is to much of shave lotion, after shave, shampoo, conditioner, & hair gel to bring on a business trip. I will be using containers half the size.

This is a high end product worth getting. So I put it to the test. I first put some tissue paper inside and put the lid on. Ran water over it, especially near the opening. It passed, the tissue was completely dry. So it's waterproof. I then took it outside, I threw it up like 20 feet and let land on a concrete drive way. I did this several times and the only result was a minor scratch. Next I threw it down on the driveway. The first throw was like half strength. The tube bounced back at me. No defect appears so I threw it again only this time with all my strength. It bounced like a football. That resulted in a scratch. No cracks or chipping. I then ran some more water over it again to test it. Same result, it's waterproof. This is a great product in terms durability. The cap can be exchanged with normal size 2 litter bottle cap as well. So that's a plus.

These little containers are perfect. They came in a timely manner and are exactly as pictured. They come with the complete cap and act like a soda bottle that when you open it it rips the seal so you will know if someone opened it. The seal that you brake does not affect the cap like I said it works exactly like a new soda bottle you can close it back up and it's waterproof again. I highly recommend it because if you think of it as $2 a piece it's a steal. I've gotten smaller containers that have matches in them for a dollar and those are not as big or see through like these. I highly recommend these will certainly be buying more soon.

I bought these because I wanted to make my own kits for backpacking. I made a match kit and I plan on making a fishing kit. I was able to use the match kit while I was backpacking on the Appalachian Trail and I can say in full honesty I am glad I brought it along. The matches were completely dry even though it rained for a few hours and my bag and its contents got wet. This container kept it dry and it was slim so I could easily fit it in my backpack without taking up a lot of room. The plastic that these are made of are also very high quality and you can tell that they won't break. I will use these to make more kits and to keep supplies in that I need to keep dry.
