The rechargeable batteries power the camera fine, but have no power to the flood lights. The cameras last quite a while with the blink battery extension pack. The only need for the solar panel is when the flood lights are added. When trying to contact the company for any support there is none available, only a select few prompts for self diagnosis. None of the steps relate to this concern, there is no actual way to contact the company to try and warranty this solar panel that I bought 2 months ago and just now have time to install.

Wish I could give it zero stars for wasting my time twice! Let me start by saying I decided to buy this because I have had one of their doorbell solar panels that worked great for two years. So when I saw this I didn’t hesitate to buy it, but the quality of this product was awful. It powers the camera, but not the light. This happened on both the products I received . I bought one, it didn’t work and had the same problem on the one as the replacement. The battery pack isn’t getting power it should have around 6 volts after being charged as zero volts to the battery pack looks to be a bad wire connection (see photos). I would look elsewhere till they fix and recall the bad ones. It’s too bad because I really wanted this to work, it’s a good idea, but fails to work.

This solar panel system is easy to setup and install. Follow the instructions and it's all pretty straightforward. The whole thing took maybe 20 minutes to install. Haven't had a problem since and I'm not burning up a pack of lithium batteries every month or two so it should pay for itself in short order.

I purchased 2 Blink outdoor floodlight cameras and 2 of these solar panels from Amazon. When installing the first camera we had some problems and we talked to Blink Support. I had a question about whether we needed to remove the floodlight batteries if we hooked up a solar panel. the response was that you could not use a solar panel for both the camera and floodlight. they told us this would not work.After unpacking the solar panel and studying it, I now know the Blink Support did not know what they are talking about. In their case, this is not a Blink product so they know nothing about it. It does seem to have all the necessary parts to work. It replaces the batteries in both the camera and floodlight with rechargeable batteries. The one problem I see is that the connection cable is soldered to the batteries so that presents a problem when installing the camera where ever. My suggestion is that the cable be changed by putting a plug/receptacle in the line. Now the batteries can be installed in both the camera and floodlight, then when installing the camera is is an easier job to mount the camera, mount the solar panel, then string the cable over for connection, just plug the leads together and you are all done. By having the connector, you can string the cable, wrap as necessary, an merely plug them together. this would all be awkward to do if the cable is hardwired to both camera and floodlight. Now, my camera is working and I need to install this solar system on my camera and floodlight, then go wrestle with the mounting problem. We will see how it all works. and I will follow up with an operational report.
