I was hoping that these hooks would work for my gutter covers. While they do have the grooves on the metal hook, there is no tight fit. After installing the hooks, I went to hang the lights and the hooks easily came out of the gutter cover. It was no surprise that after the first wind on my Christmas lights came down most of the time with the hook.

If you're looking for light hooks for a gutter with wire cover these work just fine and held lights from Novemeber to January without any issues. No rust, no wear when removed will be able to reuse next season.

Got these because I have gutters with grates over the tops and these looked like they were going to be perfect for my needs. While they do work, they also come out very easily when putting up lights. This was a point of frustration going up and down a ladder to hang the lights on the hooks just to have them come right out of the gutter while trying to put the next one in or the lights would come right off the hook because they act as more of a rest than a hook. The opening of the hook is too large, so the lights are not secured in any way.
