I have a Weber 22-1/2" One Touch Gold; no idea on the model number but it is the "Copper" version. I bought it used.These things last forever; they are definitely lifetime purchase. However this doesn't mean they don't need occasional service or parts. Or upgrades. Hey that lid vent, when you go to close it, it is HOT!!! That lid vent gets a little loose over time as you open and close it every grilling session you have. And that is what this is; a replacement lid vent but with a little cool-handle so you can open and close with safety.Someone below mentioned instructions. Mine came with no instructions. However the replacement is easy enough and intuitive, I am not sure I would have read them anyway? You will need a drill to drill out the fastener that is pressed on the original; drill from underneath or bottom side of the lid. This replacement goes on with a nut; I suspect this nut will loosen over time and may need occasional tightening? For now though, it works.

I have been using this for close to 2 months now and I am pleased. It is well constructed and has performed very well on my grill. It is a nice way to easy adjust your vents withour much fuss.

Refurbished the damper on our 22 inch kettle grill perfectly. The thickness of the aluminum seems to the same as the original. The handle attaches easily and the center bolt attaches with a self-locking nut that ensures the damper will work easily without loosening. The handle means no more trying to change the damper without getting burned. Our grill's damper is attached with a rivet which would have to be drilled in order to remove it. So it seems just drilling a hole in the upright flange of the existing damper and attaching the handle to the old damper might be more to the point. If the rivet ever gives up the new damper is at hand. In any event, no more burned fingers.

My Weber 22½" kettle came without the heat-proof grip upgrade on the top damper, like the next level up has. This grill is a few years old and the damper was in rough shape from years of clamping locking pliers onto the bare "handle" tab on the damper to avoid burned fingers.This replacement damper is the perfect solution. It's nearly identical to the original. The holes are a tiny bit larger in diameter (approximately 3mm larger) but their centers coincide with those of the holes in the original. The wall thickness of the replacement damper is about 0.3mm less than that of the original. Both of these differences are very minor and are negligible for this application since they won't affect function.Although no instructions were included, installation is intuitive and quite simple. The biggest job is drilling out the fastener used to secure the original vent damper, but that would be the same regardless of what you're replacing it with. Just go slowly and it's a straightforward process.Installing the new vent damper was as simple as attaching the handle with the included lock nut and then attaching the damper to the grill lid with the included hardware. The contour of this replacement damper matched that of my grill lid perfectly, greatly simplifying the installation process.No more burned fingers or hunting down the locking pliers. I'm a happy griller!

I'm loving my new Weber 20-inch smoker grill. I smoke with selected woods for that great smoked flavor. When done grilling, I like to save the charcoal as much as I can, so I close the top air vent. After cooking, however, the vent gets pretty hot, so I use anything I can get a hold of to slide the vent closed.That is problematic, so I now use this handy handle vent to close it off. The handle does not get hot at all. It's so easy to use. It's made of strong aluminum and will last a long time. This handle will make my grilling easier and safer. It was so easy to install. I love it.

This isn't the same as what our grill originally came with but it works. It's the right size and is sturdy, sturdier then the original actually, and it has a bigger handle. We had to drill a hole to get the other one off and for the bolt for this one. We now have a damper that operates properly and doesn't spin shut on it's own.
