This is a direct swap for the original battery in a 5/6/7th gen iPod classic and if you aren't looking to flash mod your iPod then this is a great way to revive it and restore it to its former glory. It fits perfectly and is fairly easy to install, ifixit has great guides as well as dankpods on youtube showing how to go about installing one of these. For around $12 at the time of this review this is a great kit that comes with all the tools needed to complete the install and is definitely worth picking up if you've got an old iPod kicking around in a drawer waiting to be revived.

If you still have an iPod Classic, and if you bought it new when it was a new device, it’s probably about time to change your battery, at least that’s my case. I bought my 160gb iPod Classic years ago when it was the HOT listening device when “streaming” music was in its infancy. Now, it’s much easier (though it costs much more) to purchase a plan with a streaming service, and get all your favorites (at least those that are available on the service). Of course, there’s also the route that many have taken (who don’t want to pay a monthly streaming service fee), which is to load your favorite tunes on the device that REPLACED the iPod - a SMART phone with sufficient storage.Well, I saw this replacement battery on the JUBOTY store. In addition to the matching replacement battery, it supplies tools to crack open my iPod classic, and figured it was worth the very small investment, to make my device “like new”. I only have one small complaint: the slender tools are fine for opening the case, removing the old battery, but it would have been IDEAL to have a small pliers or tweezers to remove the electronic ribbon from its very tight space in the well of the iPod. I figured it out, and I was able to remove the old battery, install the new battery, minutes. Now I have a device that looks, and acts, new - long battery life, less frequent charging.

I got an Apple iPod Gen 5 way back when, like twenty years ago. I used to spend a lot of time in airports for work, and my Walkman cassette tape player just couldn’t cut it anymore. I used the IPod for a long time until my phone finally replaced it. Then, it became my go-to music player in the RV, but the battery eventually gave up on me.When I saw this replacement kit from Juboty, I thought, why not give it a shot?Well, let me tell you, it was a great purchase! The upgrade was a breeze once I got the case off. But, the case itself was a bit of a challenge. It took me about 20 minutes to open it, and then another 10 minutes to replace the battery and close it back up.The kit comes with a small Phillips head screwdriver and a plastic separator tool. The separator tool helped me start opening the case, but I soon realized that I needed a second tool like this to get it open completely. Once I was inside, I needed a small straight blade to open and close the lock on the power cable connector. After a few minor hiccups, the upgrade was a total breeze and super easy.In summary, this little kit is an absolute steal for a few dollars. It’ll give your old iPod a fresh new lease on life. If you’re looking for a way to breathe new life into your old iPod, I highly recommend this kit.

Installed this in a 5th gen 30GB iPod with iFlash Solo SD upgrade. It had died completely (no boot even with charger attached), and this battery brought it right back up.Looks pretty much the same as the previous (3rd party) battery, but different label.Comes with the correct thin plastic prying tool. Also came with as screwdriver, but it was unnecessary.

I was surprised to find that they sell these batteries for iPod players. Most people don’t use iPods anymore because we’re able to use our phones. I happen to like dedicated devices for certain things like music and happen to have an old iPod player. This battery replacement is suppose to be good for 5th through 7th generation video classic iPods. Hopefully, they’ll still support the operating system of these iPods as long as they can. This battery may extend the life a few more years.

I've got a decent collection of iPods. A couple of them the batteries have gone bad and won't take a charge anymore.I grabbed a fifth generation iPod that wasn't working and the battery fits perfect hooked it up and plugged it in took a full charge and works just fine. If you've got an old iPod, that's dead. It's really not that tough of a repair. I love the ability to listen to high-quality music distraction, free.

Replaced battery in my old ipod classic with this. Works well and functions fine. Replacement was relatively easy and youtube video will help to understand exactly how to take apart.
