About this item

  • 【NO-TANGLE DURABLE WEBBING】:The 6FT lifeline is made of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene(UHMWPE). The tough webbing is highly resistant to abrasion, aging, impact, corrosion and won’t soften from frequent use. The internal anti-tangle System makes the retracting of the lifeline smoother with no tangle. The minimum breaking force is up to 4,500 LBS.
  • 【360°SWIVEL TOP CONNECTOR】: The SRL features a 360°swivel top connector that allows for easy movement and positioning. At the same time, it also prevents the lifeline from twisting and extends the service life of the product.
  • 【SAFETY&CONVENIENT】This perfect SRL automatically retracts or extends based on the user's movement, allowing for free movement while maintaining constant tension on the lifeline. This feature minimizes the risk of stumbling, ensuring a quick response and 100% safety.
  • 【EXTERNAL SHOCK ABSORBER】The shock absorber is made of high-strength polyester webbing, rigorously tested to withstand over 5,500 pounds. It will release immediately when suddenly falling, effectively reducing the damage to the user. The shock absorber cover can also extend product longevity for outdoor use.
  • 【ANSI & OSHA COMPLIANT】This self retracting lifeline complies with ANSI/ASSP Z359.14-2021 by third-party. It can be used for window washing, climbing, communication towers, roofing work, wind turbines, gutter cleaning, water tanks, wells, shipyards, installation, inspection, maintenance, linemen, engineers, inspectors, supervisors, technicians, industrial painters. It‘s Ideal for overhead use and features a compact, lightweight design. It Includes a quick-action braking system and a swivel top. The load capacity is around 130-310LBS.

At 6 foot (measured tip of the clasp to the tip of the carabineer) this is a specialty item designed for specific use cases.I got it for one a little outside of those. This works just like a seatbelt in a car. If you move slowly, it will move freely. But if you move quickly, it will latch and prevent further unraveling. I found it took some pretty quick movements to trigger the lock which was good for moving around. The unit includes a wrapped shock absorber to slow down a fall that will prevent sudden impact damage to the body. Since my use does not need this feature (a low roof that is 8 feet from the mount point) I took it apart to see about increasing its length a bit. Interestingly the expandable webbing seems very well secured. It seems to consist of two straps that are sewed together and glued together enough to require quite a bit of weight to get it to pull apart, so you do not need to worry about pulling on it if you reach the end as it seems it would take a great deal of weight so you won't accidentally pull it apart . It has 2 pull apart straps with 2 other straps that hold at the end of its acceleration braking. as I think it is called.Yes this has plastic components but most things do but no plastic seems to be involved with the supporting structure. The carabiner seems pretty solid to me and is the auto locking type, It is a bit large but that seems good for stability and ease of removing with gloves on. The carabiner that attaches the expanding unit is not self locking but it does not need to be and is smaller which allows it to attach to more narrow mount points.Overall this seems like a good lower cost option for safety needs,

No one ever wants to fall, to test one of these things. The webbing stitching looks to be on par with industry standard. The snaphook looks, and feels odd to function, but does work. The enclosure of the cam mechanism is plastic, and lightweight, making me needlessly skeptical of its durability. To be fair, the mechanism's enclosure has nothing to do with the function. It's more to keep the mechanism clean, and not get the internal components damaged. Most of these on the current market are plastic, but that doesn't make me feel better about them. The carabiner fills me with a complete lack of confidence, in that it's not only an extremely lightweight aluminum oval-type, but it's so light that it's only about 2/3 the weight of a similar competitor unit. The screw locking collar of the carabiner (which I also hate this type of locking mechanism) feels very cheap. All the requisite safety decals/signage was present, as well as WLL's and gate strength indicators. I would recommend this assembly, however only after replacing the mounting oval carabiner.

I acquired this RTOVZON fall arrest Self-Retracting Lifeline (SRL) for use when working at heights I consider potentially hazardous (technically, OSHA defines this as 48” or higher off the lower surface). The SRL is attached to the D-ring of a safety harness, with the SRL above the wearer’s head. In the event of a fall, the SRL is supposed to keep the wearer from falling more than a few inches. As the wearer moves around, the webbing moves in and out of the SRL to prevent potentially dangerous slack in the lifeline. The SRL is a lot like a self-retracting seatbelt mechanism that keeps the slack out, then locks up when suddenly tensioned. Just like a seatbelt, it is prudent avoidance that we hope we never need. This particular SRL is rated for persons weighing at least 130 pounds but no more than 310 pounds, and allows up to six feet of mobility. While this SRL may not be as sleek, lightweight, or smooth as models costing several times as much, its affordable price point makes it an option for individuals whose budgets may not allow, or whose intermittent use does not justify, the higher priced devices. While I consider myself a dedicated reviewer, I did not jump off my roof to test this device. However, in short tests it seemed to operate satisfactorily. This SRL claims to comply with ANSI/ASSP Z359.14-2021 and to be tested by a third-party, though notably it lacks any documentation thereof, as well as lacking the standardized labeling for SRDs introduced by the 2021 update of Z359.14.Overall, I feel that this RTOVZON 6-foot Self-Retracting Lifeline is a useful addition as part of a safety system for use when I am working at dangerous heights. Like seatbelts when they were first introduced, it takes some getting used and it can sometimes be an inconvenience, but one day it might just save you from death or serious bodily injury.

So, I thought this was going to be like the auto-belay devices at the top of the rock wall that they use for indoor rock climbing gyms. Nope! This is a fall arrestor. A completely different type of PPE! I wanted an auto-belay to ceiling mount in my daughter's bedroom so I could finally install the rock wall I built for her so she can climb to her loft instead of using the stairs. Nope, not with this device. However, I do have a use for it and have already used it multiple times! I have a crazy fear of heights. To the point I don't even like to climb my 17' ladder. So, the past few times I have had to use my ladder, I have clipped this on to my rock climbing harness and then attached it to my ladder.Fortunately, I have not fell yet, but I do feel MUCH safer with this while I'm at height and my ladder does not shake nearly as much from my fear. Overall, the build quality is perfect, it is failry light weight, and functions as described in the listing. Overall, I am very happy to have this.
