Product Description

Mteycei Replacement Transmission Filter Kit - Keep your transmission running smoothly.

Automatic Transmission Filter

Mteycei

The automatic transmission filter removes dirt and contaminants in the fluid before it travels into the transmission.

Automatic Transmission Filter

Automatic Transmission Basics:

The transmission harnesses the power produced by the engine. It then distributes it to the wheels in the most efficient way possible. Without a transmission, your car would travel too fast and out of control.

Automatic transmissions use fluid to supply pressure to clutches and bands. The clutches and bands determine the proper gear ratio. A torque converter regulates the fluid pressure.

Fluid leaks can develop as gaskets wear out. Transmission fluid gets contaminated with tiny metal particles. And, although it doesn't burn up, ATF does break down over time.

Worn out components can't be restored to like-new condition by bathing them in fresh fluid. It doesn't work that way.

Automatic Transmission Filter

Automatic Transmission Service Intervals:

The best place to start is with your manufacturer's recommended service interval.

Some new car transmissions are sealed units with fluid that lasts up to 150,000 miles.Don't make the mistake of assuming your transmission is the same because it's new. Many newer automobiles still need transmission service every 20,000 - 60,000 miles. CVT's, or continuously variable transmissions, often need service at intervals less than 30,000 miles.

Servicing your transmission at shorter intervals won't hurt it. In fact, it may be necessary if any of the following driving conditions apply.

  • frequent stop-and-go driving
  • heavy towing
  • snow plowing
  • you live in a hotter climate

When you service your transmission is important but so is how. There are different methods with different costs and different levels of effectiveness.

Automatic Transmission Filter

Keep Up with Regular Transmission Maintenance Services:

Mteycei Transmission Filters protect vital components against contaminants in the transmission fluid. Proper filtration helps improve transmission life by minimizing wear.

it’s important to keep up with regular transmission maintenance services. Most commonly, you’ll need a transmission fluid replacement service roughly every 20,000-60,000 miles, though that timeframe can shift based on your driving habits and environment.

Automatic Transmission Filter

Change Automatic Transmission Fluid and Filter

  • Replace the Transmission Fluid Filter.

There’s usually only one bolt holding the filter — again, just a ratchet is all you need. Check the new filter is identical to the old one, then slip it on and secure the bolt. It’s a good idea to lube the O-ring with some transmission fluid before your do.

  • Replace the Transmission Pan Gasket

The rubber gasket along the edge of your transmission pan should come away easily, but you can use your plastic scraper if it doesn’t. When the pan is out, spray it down with your brake cleaner before wiping the surface with your paper towels. Clean the mating surface and grease the edge before placing the new gasket.

  • Install the Pan

Put the pan back up, screwing all the bolts until they are finger-tight — if you go too tight, you’ll risk damage.

  • Add the Fluid

Finally, use your funnel to pour your new transmission fluid into an old jug so you can get the perfect amount.

Seems to be a direct replacement, and has filter material in it instead of a screen. Should work just as intended. Installation is straight forward, if you know what this product is, you probably know how to replace it.

In the realm of vehicle maintenance, few components are as critical as the transmission filter. Recently, I had the opportunity to install the 6L80E 6L90E Automatic Transmission Filter Kit, designed for a range of models in the Chevrolet and GMC lineups,The primary role of a transmission filter is to keep the transmission fluid pristine, removing debris and contaminants that could potentially wreak havoc on its internal components. The kit includes everything necessary for a complete replacement, including pan bolts—18 to be precise.Let's skip the happy talk and get down to my experience.I bought a used Fleet vehicle Silverado 2500 HD. It is a brute with proper gearing for towing. I changed the engine oil, and filter and siphoned, replaced several quarts of Transmission fluid 3 times over a short period. I was too lazy to drop the transmission pan and replace the filter. Everything worked fine.We bought a new Toy Hauler Trailer from a dealer in Florida because the trailer came equipped with all the features we wanted at a huge discount. Our trip back was a nightmare towing the 7600-pound beast over the Third World neglected Freeway system. Every State has neglected maintenance, especially at bridges where pavement-to-bridge joints need filling. Pathetic system. The ride was severe towing the large trailer with jolts that dislodged our overhead bed and other things. The engine flashed a condition on the dash. The Stabil-tract light came on between the long disastrous trip. It reset later on.We finally made it back and as I turned off of the off-ramp, I noticed a hesitation from the stop. I knew I had a problem. The very next day after returning home, The transmission gave up entirely. I dropped the pan and was shocked at the metal shavings. Large pieces as well as a silvery fluid. Shot! Dead! I removed more than 2 tablespoons of metal from the pan. I knew the transmission was hot on the trip home. Later research educated me on the importance of heat, wear, and transmission fluid and filter changes. Through laziness and ignorance, I killed my transmission.Long story short, $6500 is my rebuild cost but that's not all. Because the factory installed a barely useful cooler, I need to upgrade to an adequate trans oil cooler. Add another $200. The factory coolers are useful if you only run to the market and to picnics or around town. For towing, install a PROPER trans cooler.Lesson learned:*The factory cooler is inadequate at best. For towing, upgrade. My new cooler will be the largest available with a fan.* Change fluid if it ever gets TOO HOT! Fluid breaks down with heat, reducing its effectiveness in lubricating.* Change the filter too. My filter was clogged with metallic particles. Ignorance has a price. My transmission rebuild is half the value of my used pickup. This has been a very expensive education on Automatic Transmission while towing #101Trans filters are not as complex in design as oil filters. They will NOT hold very much contamination.YOU CAN NOT CHANGE FLUID TOO OFTEN!This is my $7,000 quote. Don't let it be yours.
