Trunk lock actuator, an electronic device that makes "popping the trunk" a snap with one push of a button. The trunk lock actuator is the electric motor that can be remotely triggered via the fob device or is activated by pressing a button inside the vehicle. How to replace a Trunk Lock Actuator?
1: Access trunk and locate trunk lock actuator.
2: Remove plastic cover and trunk liner.
3: Remove actuator cables and any electrical connectors. If there is an electrical connector, squeeze the tab on its side and firmly pull straight away from actuator to remove it.
4:Remove old actuator. Use a socket wrench or phillips head screwdriver to remove bolts holding the actuator to the vehicle.
5: Mount new trunk lock actuator. Starting with electrical connector if your actuator is equipped with one, begin reconnecting trunk lock actuator. Slide connector over the tab on the actuator and gently push until it clicks into place.
Then line actuator body up to the mounting holes on the vehicle and use a socket wrench to tighten the mounting bolts.
6: Reconnect trunk lock actuator cables.
7: Reinstall trunk liner and trunk lock actuator cover. Reinstall trunk liner by lining up connectors to the appropriate holes on the trunk door and press firmly on each connector until it snaps into place.

O Riley’s charged 180 for a similar part. This one works just fine perfect fit with no modification. Would recommend. Super easy to install tooJust need a 10mm socket with extension and a Phillips screwdriver and a flathead screwdriver.

I damaged my trunk lock/release and had to replace it. This unit worked just fine. Quick replacement job although i did have to buy a metric socket set.

This item (74851-SDA-A22 Rear Tailgate Trunk Latch Lock Actuator Tail Gate Latch Motor) did fit my 2006 Honda Accord V6 EX coupe with no issues at all. Some of the reviews I read stated that some slight modification was needed because of the metal loop located on the back surface of this device. My guess is that this metal loop is for the vehicles that have the manual key entry which does not include my vehicle. I had the tools to do any needed modifications, but I was pleasantly surprised that there was already a small cut away section behind my old trunk latch lock. This section had enough clearance to fit the metal loop inside and allow the new trunk latch lock to sit flush against the trunk surface. I was able to easily install this device and function test all methods of opening the vehicle trunk satisfactorily.

The product seems like a good replacement but im not sure if its just this particular one or theres more with the same issue, but it will not lock. I adjusted everything on it but with a single tugg the trunk will pop open.

This will not fit the 06-07 Accord (aka gen 7.5) without a slight modification. The issue is the 06/07 doesn't have a key lock for the trunk. If u look at the pictures for this item you'll see an oval brass piece on one side of the lock. That brass piece connects to a wire which connects to the key lock of the prefacelifted gen 7 accord. Apart from that this item is otherwise the same for the gen 7.5. So get out your Dremel and there is just enough room to cut that piece off at the first bend. Once you cut that piece off this item will fit flat on the inside trunk surface and work on the 06/07 facelifted accord :)
