The chair inserts are molded from nylon which is soft and easy to modify in thin sections. This softness is important since the two ribs of the insert are a bit oversized for the tubular legs of lawn chairs which makes installation very difficult. However, I used a scissor to trim the thin bottom rib to reduce its diameter. That enables insertion of the bottm rib into the tubular leg. I then used a plastic, 2-lb dead blow hammer to drive the top rib securely into the tubular leg. Since the top rib is soft, it will easily get past the initial resistance with one or two shots of the hammer.The manufacturer may wish to slightly redesign their mold such that the bottom rib has a smaller diameter than the top rib. That small fix would substantially improve ease of installation and customer satisfaction.

Was sure of the inside diameter of the pipe used for my outdoor furniture chairs, the white works very well with the lima bean color . Squared the cap to the head of the pipe slapped them in place with my hand. Four chairs repaired in minutes with some spares. Nice solid fit even with the chairs are tossed about by our breezes. Still looking new here in Phoenix.

I installed a few of them in less than 5 minutes total time. The chairs are now as good as new and will not scratch my patio deck. They are a little tight as indicated in another review but will not likely come loose. I am happy such a product is available.
