I like that these have some decent handles. I like to avoid touching the files with my hands as much as possible because the salts and oils from my skin usually corrodes then pretty quickly. I mostly use the flat file to sharpen my machete and it works great for that. Again having the handle makes it so much easier and I'm much more sure of my movements and that I won't cut myself.

I'm filing these, well files, to proceed to trial, but the case they were presented with, that gets thrown out as faulty evidence. What this all means is that I like the filing tools, they are big, heavy, and aligned with my expectations enough to satisfy. Each one of the trio has the hefty weight necessary for a sturdy feel, and their texturing is defined, ample, and effective for any smoothing out the rough metal/wood project pieces. The handles are also large enough for me to feel a comfortable, working grip while in my hands. I cannot tell how the metal is attached inside the handles, but as long as they hold firmly as they are now, I'll be happy.The sleeve style poly case that these are supposed to be kept in is unfortunately a different story all together. It had a lot of tape wrapped around the top and bottom portions, which I assume was to reinforce it against the heavy files, but the metal tips had broken through the reinforcement, and were sticking out a couple inches. The case was also beginning to tear vertically along its side edge seams. To top it off, the tape used happens to be the annoying kind that's super gooey and leaves gunk behind that can't be removed without q lengthy, and time consuming effort, and using specialty adhesive removing solutions. When the tape wouldn't lift its own residue by sticking it to itself and quickly pulling it back repeatedly, like some tapes will do, I gave up and threw the case out on precedence.So, my ruling is being 'filed' as a favorable judgment for the actual tools, for both their merits and performance. However, the rest of the 'case' was sorely mired in red 'tape' and therefore, the case alone is ruled inadmissible. All fun puns aside, the poly case isn't much of a loss, since it wouldn't last more than a couple desert summer seasons at most. I just had to put the files in a different toolbox today, instead of a at a later date. Either way that went, I still have a good set of duty ready, garage quality files. Best regards and thank you.
