Not much to say about this. It's precisely the size I ordered. It's not flimsy and it feels very sturdy. Nice thick metal and the spot welds are quality.

An EF2 tornado took our previous roof vent cap and apparently punted into the next county, but this one was a perfect fit and very easy installation! It arrived very well packaged and protected, is a great quality, and fits perfectly on our roof vent (standard 8" residential vent). It blends in architecturally, and is a good value. It's survived yet another tornado (this one EF3!) and is functionally quite strong! Highly recommend to any homeowner needing to replace!

This 8-inch roof vent cap is a solid and reliable solution for my bathroom exhaust. The galvanized steel construction feels very durable and weather-resistant. The black finish looks sleek and blends well with my roof. Installation was straightforward, and the damper works perfectly to prevent backdrafts. The removable cap makes cleaning and maintenance easy. It provides excellent ventilation and has significantly reduced moisture in my bathroom. It's a high-quality product at a reasonable price. I'm very happy with its performance and build.

This is a very sturdily built vent with good welded seams, thicker steel than a lot of big box vents use, and a nice black finish. That said, the flap is not impressive. Not only is it wafer-thin, it is also not provided with any gasket so is pretty much guaranteed to bang once it gets windy. What is worse, it is also not flat so in its closed state there is a significant gap, meaning that air will be free to flow in or out at all times - see picture.Then there are the instructions. Oh, wait, there aren’t any enclosed and what is shown on the Amazon page is ridiculous. You should never screw this down on top of roofing materials. They even seem to suggest that you can just screw this down on top of clay tile…I would not recommend anyone to buy this.

Looks and works great. Install was simple as can be. Item is made with high quality steel and looks to look like it will last a ling time. Great product and the price is much cheaper than Lowes.

works very well at keeping water out and allowing air to move through. I really like that this is removable, because the one I replaced this with, was one piece, which made cleaning impossible
