These are pretty decent quality, but the color could certainly be made a bit brighter and visible. The useful half-moon is for positioning the screw for consistent spacing if you are using visible screws.DO NOT randomly select a gap size for what you think looks good. Wood will likely shrink making the gap bigger, and PVC needs to expand and contract or it will buckle. Make sure you gap appropriately for the type of wood and its moisture content, and for PVC decking it will be based on whatever the manufacturer says usually combined with the current temperature. Please look it up, you don't want to gap incorrectly which is the whole reason you are considering buying these, right? Also consider putting down some joist tape under your boards to protect the topside. Pressure Treated wood is not the same quality it was years ago and can use some help.

I just completed building a new deck, and found these spacers to be invaluable for achieving consistent spacing of the deck boards. These allow for 4 different spacing from 1/4” down to small gaps. That means that you need to be careful when using them to make sure you always use the same spacing. On my project that was easy because I used the 1/4” spacing, so could just visually make sure that I was always using the thickest arm of the spacer without having to read the numbers each time.

These are a nice addition to the toolbox. I've been cutting my own spacers from scrap for years, and having consistently manufactured ones will be nice.

I just finished replacing a ground level 10x15 deck using pressure treated lumber. The title was kind of confusing calling saying these are for Pressure Treated Composit Decking. I have never seen that material. You’re either using Composit boards or Pressure Treated boards. If you’re using pressure treated boards like I did, you definitely have more work to do with the spacing because the boards are rarely ever perfectly straight. An additional challenge that I had was that the original cemented form where the deck was is not a perfect rectangle. It was three inches longer on one long side and 2 inches longer on one short side. Length of the boards was not an issue as cutting the board length was easy, but width wise (side to side), I had to gap the back side of the deck area wider so that it would fan out and hopefully meet the opposite frame wall at the same time as the short long side. (difficult to explain). I started using 1/8” and 3/16” tile spacers but they were so small that they kept falling underneath my boards. These spacers being larger were easier to position and didn’t fall so easily between the boards. I used the same sizes – 1/8” on the front side and the 3/16” on the back side, and occasional 3/16” in the middle and 1/4” on the back side depending on the board’s straightness. I did not use the screw guides on the spacers as I considered them too close to the edge and I also felt the screw position should depend on the width of the boards you are using.Although the green color was not an issue for me since I was not working over grass, I can understand why there would be so many requests to make them a different color because of that.

These worked great for my little 3 foot deep by 9 foot long step project.Since they are a "T" shape, they didn't fall off or get lost in the grass. They stayed on top of my boards like they are made to.A different reviewer had said they wished they were any color other than green, and I can understand that. They probably should be anything other than green, if they do drop onto the grass they could be hard to find.No stars deducted, but the company should consider this when making future batches. They are very uniform on the size, and there are 4 different spacer sizes, they are in 1/16 inch increments. You get 1/16, 1/8, 3/16 and 1/4 inch. Both the 3/16 and the 1/4 inch sides are in line with each other and are straight walled. The 2 smaller sizes are in line with each other but seem to be "hinged". The pictures in the description show this hinged spot I am talking about. They get thinner at the center almost like they are meant to flex. The only thing with it flexing is that it seems like it would lead to them breaking off at the hinge point. So far so good, I had to take pliers on a couple to get them out they didn't break or pull apart. I used the 1/4 inch spacing.Just remember to buy the Original Spacely Space Sprocket Spacers, not the Cogswell Cogs imitations!!

We're putting in a small deck in a couple of weeks and these spacers are the the correct width for spacing our boards. We've used flat pencils, deck screws and many other things in the past and the spacing is always a little off. These spacers should do the trick!
