If your primary concern with crochet hooks is that you need them to be lightweight, then you will like these a lot! They're very lightweight, and the colored portion is nice and grippy yet very soft in your hand. I can imagine these being really good for someone with arthritis.My only complaint is that crocheting with them doesn't feel as smooth as it does with my metal hooks. The metal ones are definitely more slippery so they slide through the yarn more easily. I found that I had to apply more pressure to insert and pull through with these plastic hooks than with the metal ones I normally use. The extra pressure sometimes caused the hook to bend in my hand a little, as plastic is more flimsy than metal. However, I do tend to crochet on the tighter side so if you have a naturally looser grip/stitch then you may not have this same problem. I also mostly use cotton and I do think a silkier acrylic would be easier to crochet with these hooks. They still worked fine, just weren't my personal favorite to use.I do like how many sizes you get with this set. It comes with many sizes that are in between the more common sizes, so there are lots of options depending on what your project requires!

I only had one larger crochet hook, so I decided to get this set as I want to do projects with thicker yarns. This set has a good selection of sizes, from 6 mm up to a huge 20 mm. Note that these hooks are not marked with letter sizes that many patterns use, but there's probably a chart somewhere online that has that information. Of course, we're supposed to do a gauge piece with any crochet project anyway, so we should be able to figure out which hook is needed.These hooks have a softer handle. I haven't tried a project with them yet, but I think they will be comfortable to use. Overall I'm pleased with this set.

These crochet hooks are made of a very nice lightweight plastic. The whole thing is very smooth with no edges or sharp bits to cut you. The sizes are clearly marked. The colors are bright and bold. The hooks grab and hold your yarn very easily and the whole thing slides through your yarn very smoothly. I had never seen a set of large crochet hooks like this before, usually they are individual. I love the ergamotamic shape of the handles, very good for people with arthritis or wrist issues. Overall, highly recommend and can't wait to do more projects!

I've always wanted hooks larger than the typical ones, and I found these! This 20.0mm is going to be the first one I use!!! I will make a simple throw and then a sweater.The grip on these hooks feels good in my hand, and the weight isn't at all what I thought it would be. I like that they are color-coded, and the sizes are easy to see. They are durable and will last a while.

I'm a long time, experienced crocheter. My hand strength and grip aren't what they used to be so it's time to find something more ergonomic.For the most part, this is a nice set of larger gauge hooks. Unfortunately, the purple hook had a rough spot on the plastic, about an inch below the hook, that snagged yarn. Where the hooks are plastic I was able to smooth it out without much difficulty but still an annoyance.Otherwise, the hooks performed well and I didn't have any issues holding or manipulating them. The hooks are a lot longer than my others which made them easier to hold. The handles on the ones I recieved weren't sticky after being used for a while and yarn glided on and off the hooks nicely. I wasn't sure I'd enjoy the flex of the handles but ended up really appreciating it after crocheting for a bit - it seemed to help keep my hands from feeling as stiff compared to holding a rigid hook. I am a little concerned that the sizes on the handles will wear away since they're just printed on.As with any set, it would have been nice to have a small holder or pouch included just to keep the set together but since the listing didn't show one, I can't hold that against them.The price at the time I got them worked out to about $2.50 a hook, which is a good price for a comfort handle hook.

These are a nice variation from the Clover Amour style, and most crocheters will run into situations where a different shape of head works better with a particular yarn or stitch. I love Clovers, but these give me more variety in my hook arsenal for splitty or difficult yarns, boucle, chenille, etc. It really depends on what you're working on; on a given day, one might go better for you than another, for no particular reason. These are well made and cost a fraction of Clover hooks, and they might work really well for you. The 20mm is so big, I can use it for the chunky yarns intended for arm knitting. The smaller sizes are flexible, as they show you in the listing, though I am not at all sure what advantage this would give. I took pictures of the 10mm next to a Clover of the same size, so you can compare the head size and shape.

This review is for the 8-Piece Crochet Hook Set. The brand is FANGOOL and the store is RongYu Store.There crochet hooks are decent if you are a complete beginner in crochet and need a place to start. I think the quality is acceptable, but the price of $20 is a bit much. I don't see what makes these so pricey. The silicone coating on the plastic feels very cheap. I don't expect it to last a long time.I don't recommend these hooks at this price. If the price were to go below $14 for the 8-piece set, I would recommend them. Otherwise, I would highly suggest that you buy fewer hooks at a lower price overall, because you're not going to use many of these anyway.
