I have ordered many different brands of wood slices for ornaments. I was a little leery ordering these slices because there were so few reviews. These were by far the best. The holes are actually near the outer edge of the slice, not randomly half an inch or more down. Working with natural wood, I know that ALL wood must be acclimated to its current environment. I opened the package and laid out the slices so they got "familiar" with the workspace, then sealed them with a coat of mod podge. This prevents a lot of the cracking most users mention. I did have to sand a few, but I waited till after the sealer dried, then applied the 2nd coat. I have actually just reordered to I have a good supply.

Loved these for the purpose I bought them for-- to make Christmas ornaments out of them. Some were not perfect circles, of course, because they are natural. I was fine with that. Love that they still have the bark on them.

Much better than I was expecting. As large as my palm and quite thick. The bark wants to peel of a bit but after I paint I'll find something to dip or coat them in to keep it held together and last. They also came bubble wrapped securely.
