Makes it much easier to install a light fixture with a large backplate against siding and looks much more professional than having gaps between the flat light and angles siding. The tight fit to the siding makes it easy to seal with caulk to keep rain out. It's easy to install with just a few included screws. The plastic is thick and not flimsy so it shouldn't warp over time.

The siding mounting block kit included everything I needed except for the light and power tools. It was easy to install, was good quality, and looks great. I would suggest if this is the style you need.

No wonder I struggled to put up that new porch light. I didn't have this!I didn't even know such a thing existed until I saw it was available for review.Very solid plastic mount that fits snugly against the siding. Make mounting fixtures and even house numbers a much easier task. Would definitely recommend.

I recently used this 8141DBL black siding mounting block to install an outdoor security flood light, and it worked perfectly. The durable vinyl construction feels solid and weather-resistant, making it a great choice for long-term outdoor use. The built-in electrical box was a huge plus, keeping the wiring neat and secure while giving the installation a clean, professional look. It fit seamlessly with my lap siding, and the included mounting hardware made setup quick and hassle-free. I also appreciate the thoughtful design features, like the top seal to prevent water from getting in and the drainage hole for extra protection. Whether for lights, cameras, or other fixtures, this mounting block is a reliable and well-made option!

Picked up for an old door light that frozen up when changing out the light bulb. Needed an easy way to reinstall the light. This mounting block makde installing the light fixtures on our vinyl siding pretty easy. Much easier than using the traditional way it was installed. Reason, electrical box was built in!With this type of box all you need to do is hang the mounting block, and pull the wire into the box. This saves time and effort and gives a nice clean look. The bottom line, this has a nice clean fit, for the time it saves you, a really good value for the money.Hope this helps.

I used this to mount an air vent to my for my 5-1/4" x 5/16" Hardie Plank lap siding. Note that 5-1/4" Hardie siding is typically overlapped by 1-1/4", so the visible lap is 4" from edge to edge.Fit: As expected, the slants in the the mounting block left gaps because Hardie Plank is thinner than wood plank, so I used sealant to fill in the gaps. I used OSI Quad sealant and it adhered well to the mounting block. The air vent I used has a hole diameter of 5-1/8" and a square grill sized 5-7/8". I used a jigsaw to cut a circular hole in this mounting block. Coarse tooth blades work better, as the finer blades tend to melt the plastic and it welds back together behind the blade.Suggestion for improvement:• Include a paper template for positioning and drilling the hole. The template could be printed on the bottom of the box. See my picture for a template idea.

This mount is simple but effective. Works well to hold the light in place. I only wished it had more options to mount without siding. I would like to mount it to brick. Other than that it does look nice.
